Please tell me I'm the first one to ever think of this

I love my morning cereal but I hate when the milk get warm towards the end of the bowl.

So I got myself a nice, deep, dense stoneware bowl and I keep it in the freezer.

Once I pour in the milk, it stays nice and cold. In fact, it gets even colder as the bowl of cereal progresses. Some of the milk even freezes on the sides of the bowl.

Does anyone else do this, or am I some kind of one-of-a-kind genius that shouldn't have to suffer living with the uneducated masses?

Eat faster. My milk never gets warm before I finish. I guess if you're a pokey eater, your idea isn't too bad ;^)

Lot of effort for a breakfast that doesn't give you much nutrition.

That being said, I love me some cold milk when I eat cereal.

i dont eat cereal that often, but pre-heating and pre-cooling objects is not a new idea.

so youre not a genius. youre just a slow eater. sorry, dude.

how long is your breakfast that the milk gets warm?

Also, they have mugs that has water in it that you can stick in freezer to keep your drink cold, so your idea is a bit dated.

my kid always puts a few ice cubes in her cereal.
seems weird to me, but easier than keeping a bowl in the freezer.

I prefer the lukewarm milk that is there at the end of a bowl of cereal, having it any colder would not be appealing to me.

Must be nice to have time for your milk to get warm.

Not wasted at all. Just... more relaxed. 😛

I can handle both. Eating quick in dining facilities, however, is sometimes a necessity just due to the fact that the faster you eat the garbage, the less it tastes like garbage, no? 😉

But cereal... how slow can someone eat it?

By the time the cereal is warm, isn't the cereal all soggy and falling apart? Becomes like milky sweet mush.

I used to have a massive cereal bowl, was actually a bakeware dish that I used for cereal back home. Probably used like 1/5th of a cereal box, good deal of milk.
Milk still never got warm while eating it. Then again, I love me some cereal. 😀

It's not warm, at least for me it's not, it's just not ice cold like it just came out of the fridge. It takes me a few minutes to eat my cereal, so it does have a chance to warm up slightly.

Years of working in food service taught me that most meals can be consumed in 30-90 seconds.

It's not that I eat my cereal slow, it's just that I like to eat big bowls of cereal.

I'm in Philadelphia for work and we were given 45 minutes to eat lunch. Went to the Reading Terminal Market (a bunch of different places to eat, with communal seating areas). I'm choking down my lunch as fast as I can and a guy asks if he can share my table which is fine. He's a machinist, and starts chatting about how the corporate world is taking advantage of the economic problems by pushing people harder...

"... they keep turning the screws on everyone. Like you, buddy. An extra 10 minutes isn't going to be the end of the world. Take your time and enjoy your lunch. You're eating so fast you're going to get an esophageal hernia."

I finish a bowl of cereal before the milk can even work its way to the bottom of the bowl (not really 😛)

I thought you were being serious for a moment (not really 😛).

Not true, Eat Total! 😛

Or Fiber one!

or special k!

It takes 10 bowls of Special K to equal the amount of calcium in just one bowl of Total! 😀
