<< seriously though. I think it's wrong for him not going if he's not doing something important. I don't get why girls stick up for that kind of sh!t. >>

You and me both- but not all girls do. Some of us know better, and we're the ones all the girls screwing up their lives with a$$hole boyfriends complain to.

<< maybe he don't want to see her go. >>

maybe...actually you have a valid point that I hadn't thought of. I really hope for her sake that it's something to do with that.

What an idiot. He doesn't want to miss dinner or spend $2.00?! She needs to get rid of this loser.

wait a second... i just thought of something. is he aware that she thinks they're bf/gf? because it could be an eerily similar situation to the one that i had. i ask because you said it was "on and off"... so is it possible he's aware of this?

Good point, but I'm pretty sure he knows. I know they talked at length whether to stay together or not, so I'm pretty sure it's mutual that they're together.

let's hope he said that because he's afraid of breaking down in tears if he had to say goodbye at the airport...

I hope so, for her sake. But I'm not totally convinced. Although he is the type to be tough and not show any emotion at all....

damn, tell your girl to ditch that jerk of a b/f or at least give him the cold shoulder when she gets back.

If she needs a replacement there's a great single guy I know in LA. ;)

<< What's with this?

My friend's boy won't ride with her to the airport to see her off because:

1. It's an "unnecessary cost" ($2.00)
2. They'll just have to say good bye there, why not do it earlier?
3. He'll have to ride back alone (about 1.5 hours)
4. He might miss dinner

I think he's just being a jerk- they won't see each other for four months!

So tell me- would it be worth $2 and a few hours of your time to spend a little more time with your girl?
>>

I think the boy's beyond relieved to have the gurl leave.

Like someone else mentioned, he's probably not interested in her anymore. These are really weak excuses... look for him to dump her when she calls him while she's away.

Do they both go to Westmont? The 1:3 ratio might have something to do with it. Guys really don't have to do much to get/keep a girlfriend up there. ;)

<< Brings me to another good point ! Why do MOST chicks (it seems) dig the asshole guys... WTF is up w/ that.. its terrible around here, all the hot babes like the a-holes... Sure doesnt seem right to me ... >>

I hate when I see nerds (hey, i'm a nerd too) whining about this... "assholes get all the girls, us nice guys never get any"...well you nice guys never get any because you just wait for the girls to come to you. sorry - it's not going to happen mr. anti-social. lots of confidence and being an asshole can sometimes get mixed up. what i've learned is that you have to almost act like you are "the sh!t" to get a girl, then later on once you get her, show her your more sensitive side...but sometimes if you are TOO nice (i.e. always agree with her, do anything she says, be her servant, etc.) she'll take advantage of the situation. I'm not saying go an be an asshole to get girls, but I think you mistake some of those "don jaun's" for assholes when really they just have confidence spewing out of every oriface on their body..

Oh, and about the original topic. The guy sounds like a real jackass. Being together for a year is a while, it's the least he can do. There is one other possibility - maybe he's a little macho and afraid to show his emotional side (saying that final goodbye....maybe he's not good with goodbyes, i know i'm not....*snif*...haha)

His is obviously not as emotionally tied to her as she is to him. After a year together that would indicate to me that she may need to move on to someone more committed to her.

My daughters one and only boyfriend was much like that. He wouldnt even pick her up for a date. They had to meet wherever they went. He never was committed to her and she could not see it. She was head over heels for him, and he couldnt handle it. On their last date she disappeared from the face of the earth. He walks a free man now, because there is no evidence of foul play. Im sorry my personal experience in this subject causes me grief and I speak perhaps with prejudice, but I would advise your girlfriend to avoid this guy like a bad apple.

In my old fashioned way I was always 100 percent committed and held my mate high on a pedestal... When I left for long timespans over seas it would have been very hard not to spend every minute I could with her till I was gone. I would have given my life for her. But not everyone shares these views and alas I may be wrong in my opinions.

No, just she does. He's going off to some college in Tennessee.

I know what you mean about the ratio, though, most girls are looking for someone and most guys want to get laid, so for them it works out nicely.

Unless you have more evidence, I wouldn't tell your friend to dump him because of this. Some people just don't like saying goodbye. I myself will say anything to avoid them, because I know I will break down and start crying. I've been like this ever since I lost my brother.

Kick him in the junks and steal his wallet!!

ok, i don't know why i was compelled to say that... i've been around my roommates for too long.....

The on/off for the year thing just seems like he doesn't think it's anything serious... i dunno, my opinion of it anyway...
