Please recommend me a good game that can push my 8800GTS

So far I have F.E.A.R. which I beat, Trackmania, Half-life 2 and episode 1. What are some other good games that you'd recommend that have great graphics? Thanks.

Your card just isn't good enough to play Oblivion at 1600x1200, sorry 🙁

Look at the 8800GTS benchmark articles and Rainbow 6 article and R in the Video tab. R6 will slow down the GTS at high quality / high resolution even better than Oblivion.

My max res. is 1280 by 1024. I forgot that I owned Oblivion, I got tired of it when I accidentally erased my account.

At that resolution, you should be able to run anything on max with no worries.

I run 1280*1024 on a x1900xt and I often feel like I could use some extra power. You might be surprised how much power it takes to get AA + AF + high res textures at 1280*1024.

As always the "why 8800GTX at 1280x1024" remarks... well think about it this way, 1-2 years from now, the 8800GTX will be a perfect card for 1280x1024 for the newer games. More demanding games come every minute and one of them might just need a 8800GTX to run well at 1280x1024.

So you're saying it makes sense to spend ~$450++ on a card so it can be as useful as a $100-$150 card in 1-2 years?

Try Oblivion using Qarls Texture Packages... it's a mod that replace the games original textures with ones that are almost 4 times as big, 4096x4096 I believe. This mod makes the game look absolutely breathtaking especially if you have a high end card.

Yeah, plus CaptnKills no tiling textures, 4096x4096 LOD textures, and Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul.

For Crysis, Alan Wake and Unreal 2007. Unitl then, I need some games to play. I'll try that new Oblivion patch and see how that works.
edit: I might sell my 640mb 8800GTS and get a 320mb 8800GTS.

An X800XT or something.

My X800Pro runs pretty much anything at 1280x1024 maxxed out w/ AA/AF. 😛

My X1900XT can handle Oblivion at 1680x1050, with 2x AA and full HDR. The 8800GTS should handle Oblivion fine at that resolution, better than my own, in fact.
