I had a 50 minute layover when I was going through LAX to Japan and was able to make it with no problem. I guess it would depend on how adamant Air Tahiti is with their 1 hour prior check-in time. From my experience, most airlines have this rule in place, but you can usually get past it. Could be tough, but maybe try and pack carry-on only?
I just do not see much coming from you trying to get Expedia and whomever else to change things for you. Sorry man, that really sucks.

Some day, you'll actually get to meet a woman in real life! I bet you can't wait. Until then, keep begging for pics on the internet.

this is a situation that calls for some serious social engineering.
here's some info about Expedia management - names, phone #, etc.

i'd get on the phone & ask one of those senior managers to help sort this out.
that's what travel agents are for.
there's also an exec named Erik Blachford, don't know if he's still with Expedia

there's also the Expedia message board @ Yahoo - one time i had something to
sort out with HP & the Yahoo message board took me right to Carly Fiorina, who
assigned an assistant to sort it out.

good luck working it out. Expedia has some obligation to help you - that's what
travel agents are for.

She actually told me that while they don't advertise the fact that they have higher level customer service reps, she said that most people don't care enough and will just pay the extra money. She said that when people e-mail these bigwigs/higher level support that as long as your e-mail is well written, isn't angry/mean/nasty then you honestly have a decent shot of getting your problem resolved.
