Please Help with LAN

Hello everyone. I seem to have run into a little problem getting my LAN to work. Im trying to set up two PCs to share my cable modem. I have two Linksys Ethernet cards in my server, and a Netgear Ethernet card in the client. My cable modem hooks to one of the Linksys cards in the server. The second Linksys goes into port 1 (not the uplink port) on my 4 port hub. The Netgear ethernet card, in the client PC, is hooked up into port 2 on my hub. Now, I am able to access the internet using the server computer, and, I am able to view a folder, thats shared on the client PC, from the server. I am also able to view a folder, thats shared on the server PC, from the client. However, I am unable to access the internet from the client.

I am running Win 98, first edition, from both PC's. I am also running Wingate on both PCs, with Wingate, on the server, configured as server, and Wingate, on the client, configured as the client.

Heres how I have my internal network ethernet cards configured.

Server

Ip Address Tab
Specify IP address is checked
IP address 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

WINS Configuration Tab
Disable WINS Resolution is checked

Gateway Tab
No installed gateways

DNS Configuration Tab
Disable DNS is checked

Rest are defaults

Client

Ip Address Tab
Specify IP address is checked
IP address 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

WINS Configuration Tab
Disable WINS Resolution is checked

Gateway Tab
Installed Gateway: 192.168.0.1

DNS Configuration Tab
Disable DNS is checked

Rest are defaults

I had thought that the internal ethernet card was supposed to be connected to the Uplink port on the hub, but when I did that, I was unable to access the network from either PC. Anyone have any ideas of whats going on here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

are you setting up your network in this mannor so you can keep the global ip for the server so you can host a server on the net easier? if not then just use a router like he said. i have 3 comps hooked to my router and i just open a port to host my ftp or game

Me again.

Does anybody see anything wrong with me setup? Someone from another forum said something about my DNS may not be working. How do I know if it is or not? Anyone have any ideas on what I should do?

Im only doing this because my ISP only allows one IP address, but I am wanting to connect to the internet from both PC's. Id like to get this to work with my current setup (I did have it working at one time, but got a new PC), and not have to buy a router.
