PLEASE HELP: My Computer turns on but no display ! I tried everything.

thanks. i will try that but i highly doubt that the case is defective but i am not fully sure. I was just gonna rma the motherboard because i really dont want to spend 150 on getting the computer full diagnosed for 150$

Oh i see, well no, i wouldn't buy one just to test. Could be a something else on the mobo gone bad.
However a PSU tester isn't too expensive and they do come in handy just to rule it out, i've had PSU's cause all sorts of odd issues. That and the mobo seem to be the most sensitive parts for going bad.

don`t buy anything just "for testing". (borrow one from a friend).
if the pc works only with discrete gpu, there is still something wrong with your system.

nope the ram is ok, its the psu,cpu, or the mobo, borrow a psu from a friend, and tset your system, if its is not the psu then it must be the mobo.

could be the cpu, but the odds are it is the mobo.

thanks gandya. i mean bestbuy refund policy is good. i bought one from bestbuy to test my computer earlier last week but my computer didnt turn on. the best bet is to buy one again because i returned one already and if i get one and if the results are the same, then i am more than likely to say that the motherboard is defective, correct?

you have tried swapping the psu? and same result?!
if so, then it must be mobo or cpu.
but on 10 broken mobo there is only one broken cpu(it is just the statistics..)
so odds are it is the mobo.

After doing a bit of digging, I came across a few others having similar issues and all said simply the VGA port did not work, but the other port did. Can/have you tried the DVI?

I think you have been confused, mostly is is the opposite (only the VGA works).

edit: still, good idea would be testing..

option 1 = i havent tried using my vga-dvi adaptor but i will try that.

option 2= I did try to clear rtc ram. i removed battery and reseted but still no display.

option 3= i will try to swap vga cables to test this. i didnt try this yet

i mean it is 4000 because i bought this because it is overclockable and i dont think the 3570 is clockable

I don't know that I'd ever use a toothbrush (or any kind of brush) in a socket 1155. It is so fragile that I'd be afraid of bending or breaking a pin.

It might be worth removing the CPU to check for bent pins within the socket. I'd probably wait to do this right before deciding to RMA the motherboard, though, since you'll be removing the CPU at that time anyway.

If you do RMA the board to ASUS, they aren't going to want you to send any of the accessories (including the motherboard speaker, which ASUS usually includes with their boards) with it. Just make sure you re-install the CPU cap in the empty CPU socket before you box it up to send it in.

Update: I rma'd it back to newegg and they said there are several severely bent pings in the cpu socket ! Is that why my computer had no display

Not only can that be the reason why you had no display, but it is also possible you may have damaged your CPU.

As I previously pointed out, Socket 1155 is ridiculously fragile so you need to take extra care in installing the CPU. Most motherboard manufacturers won't even honor the warranty on a board with bent CPU socket pins either (they list it as a specific exclusion to warranty), so bending the pins is something you never want to do.
