They created a "VB" theme that mimic'd the old AT theme, but it was after the large outcry from the users. Here they botched it yet again.
I created a "VB" theme that mimicked the previous AT theme, as a user style. Ryan Smith was nice enough to add it as a theme option for everybody. :)

I'm working on a similar user style for the current site, but some things just can't be done with CSS. I'm afraid I may have to write a user script (JavaScript) to get features like "first page" and "last page" links and OP names on thread listings. That seems both like something the admins are less likely to accept, and like something that will look like a kluge that should have been done as a true Xenforo theme instead. Which I think it should be.

I don't see it under the style chooser button.

The page links area all there (not sure about a link to page 1, though). I see the last five page numbers and can display them all. You can also limit the number shown (the old site showed only three links) for spacing purposes.

It's incredibly tedious working with the currently available styles. Partly because of how complex they are with respect to behavior at different browser widths.

The more I get into it, I'm realizing that there's actually some nice behavior there, such as the treatment of the top header. When the window is sized small, the text on the right (username, Inbox, Alerts) disappears and the search box disappears and a search icon appears instead. Pretty cool.

But something is definitely screwed up at the foruming list level, where only a few tiny icons appear and the OP name and page links aren't available. Seems to me that what we're seeing is intended for small mobile screens.

Are there not any styles that aren't light or dark? Light blue and grey or eggshell and something else. I can't stand light colored or dark themes. Light themes are blinding and dark theme suck when you switch tabs to a light colored page. Surely we can find a middle ground.

Shoot that my way when you've got it, and I'll make sure it gets to the right devs for addition.
Thanks! I'm kind of stalled for now because I'm getting used to this theme, and I'm busy.

Well it seems it now stores you hiding the side bars, huge win there at least.
