Only reason he's in rehab is they changed the Oxy formula - they have now made them gummy like Skittles - The $700M fine helped force the change.

No more scraping the coating and snorting the powder. Heroin use is on a major uptick because of the OXY change.

I went because i wanted to change, yes they did chance the OC formula to OP but theirs ways around it.and the roxys are still fine so i mainly stuck to those.

It doesn't matter if it's one of the Million Dollar Celebrity Rehab places, a 12 step program, or the Betty Ford Clinic...if the addict doesn't WANT to stop, they're going right back to the same behavior once they get out.
IMO, most of the celebrity rehab places only exist to provide celebrities a place to go to avoid jail time. "Oh your honor, Mary Jane Rottencrotch has spent the past 30 days in the "I'm Too Important" rehab program, and has turned her life around. Putting her in jail like a common criminal would be a travesty of justice."

Funny how Heller has claimed to ONLY be a pot smoker all these many months...now, all of a sudden, he's an opiate addict?
Sounds like he got busted for something and now he's trying to keep his ass out of jail.

Wanna bet? Alcoholics Anonymous covers up their effectiveness rate because they're ashamed of it. A few former employees have smuggled out some of their internal documents and the effective rate of your magical 12 step program is LESS than 5&#37;. LESS THAN FIVE PERCENT.

It's okay to be stupid, but try not to be loud and stupid. Get your facts straight before screaming your ignorance for the world to see. 12 step programs ARE BULLSHIT! Seriously, admit you're powerless and trust a higher power to control your life. And you think that works? ROFL!!!! Try asking the Catholic Church how effective they are in hoping priests can pray away the gay. The facts are out there, there's no excuse for you to live in utter cluelessness.

I am not going to call myself a fan of AA and their strategy, but "an employee smuggling out some internal documents" as your evidence leaves me rather baffled.

I think you are anti-AA b/c you are anti-God in general. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, but I seriously question the validity of 5% success.
 
never got arrested, was doing nothing illegal except smoking pot,i got the drugs from a script, its not hard to find opiates in south Florida, its easier to find a pill dealer then a pot dealer

still have my job at office depot, my manager is also in recovery so he let me take a 30 day break from work. AND TO everyone sitting here trying to clown on me you can go fuck yourself, you have no idea how hard addiction is to break just look at cigs,i dont know a kid on campus that doesn't smoke them. There all addicted, were all addicted to something to at one point, my choice unfortunately was drugs.

Here's something from George Valliant, a renowned Hardvard researcher in addiction treatments and former Trustee of AA

""It seemed perfectly clear that . . . by inexorably moving patients from dependence upon the general hospital into the treatment system of AA, I was working for the most exciting alcohol program in the world. But then came the rub. Fueled by our enthusiasm, I and the director . . . tried to prove our efficacy. Our clinic followed up our first 100 detoxification patients. . . . [and found] compelling evidence that the results of our treatment were no better than the natural history of the disease."

Like I said to Perk, there are plenty of facts out there and it takes a special kind of buffoonery to argue in the face of ALL OF THEM. AA's lack of effectiveness is well documented and pretty much undisputed. Even AA themselves can't produce any evidence to suggest the thousands of studies done on them are wrong. Do a little reading on your own, do a little research, educate yourself and then let's see what you have to say.

In a nutshell, the people who try to quit on their own do as well as the most famous 12 step program in the world and some studies suggest that they do BETTER than the 12 step program and the 12 step program can't refute it.
