Creed is supposed to be pretty good from what I heard. It's a true workout as well, but I don't have much interest in it because I already get hot playing games with the VR headset on. I get hot playing Super Hot VR and I'm guessing Creed is that much moving if not more, plus you're making boxing motions.

If you don't already own Move controllers, it would be dumb IMO to get PSVR without them.

My buddy has a high end PC with VR and PSVR and he says they both have pros/cons over each other.
Such as? The Oculus has a higher resolution, better tracking and more advanced controllers. They're both corded, so neither has the edge there. PSVR does have a lower cost of entry requiring only a PS4 instead of a gaming PC. But If your friend had a high end gaming PC and a Rift, I'm not sure I am following his reasons for getting PSVR.

When he said there were pros and cons to both I interpreted it as benefits and downsides to the hardware, rather than software. Unless of course you managed to summarize the sentiment of his post into to two words that is.

DIfferent library. Games like RE7, Farpoint, Astrobot, and some others can't be played on PC. And obviously PC has some PSVR can't use. He did say that PC has WWAAYYY more shovelware games and it's hard to find the good games with all of the crap that is out there.

Less of a hassle to setup PSVR (especially v2) as it's a lot more "pick up and play" with less wires, calibration things, etc. He actually may get a v2 PSVR for this reason alone because the V2 has thinner/lighter/less wires. He has like a dedicated room with sensors on the ceiling, corners, etc for his PC VR. He says PSVR is more comfortable too, which can be a big deal if you are gaming for longer sessions.

Less screen door effect on PSVR. There was also something he was telling me about the pixels on the PSVR display being the best. I forget the details as he told me about it a while ago but I just didn't really know what he was talking about either as I haven't done PC VR except a demo at the store. But he said that's part of the reason you get less screen door effect on PSVR.

Less screen door effect with lower resolution?? Now I want to try it to experience this wizardry myself.

If you do decide to go with the psvr get the PS4 pro. My buddy has a regular PS4 and it's fine but you can tell the limitations.

I think psvr has cooler games and like others said the PC games are tougher to find. For PC and basically no screen door effect with a high resolution the Odyssey plus is nice. I already have a Odyssey so I'm not buying another. Also have a rift which I stopped using after I got the Odyssey. I mainly use it for a military flight rig though so I don't have much experience with the PC games.

Just platinum'd Astrobot. That game is up there with Moss and RE7 as far as some of the most incredible video gaming experiences I've ever had. Just such an awesome game with so much charm and love put into it, you can tell. The only thing that sucks is I now have no reason to play it again really :(

It appears that the Moss/Astrobot bundle is going to be $200 on Black Friday this year. Meijer already has the price in their add but I'm sure that will be the normal price.

https://www.theblackfriday.com/meijer-blackfriday.shtml?page=8

It doesn't come with the PS Move controllers though. But holy shit, that is a steal. Those are literally the only 2 games I've ever platinum'd on PS4 and are 2 of the best games on PSVR.

Are the move controllers a necessity? I guess I mean to say, is it playable without it and if so how much of an immersion loss is it to not have them?

It's on a game-to-game basis as whether they are required or not. Those 2 games are played with the DS4.

Oh sorry I should have asked specifically about the bundled game(s). In that case the package is probably a very good deal.

Any of you PSVR folks try out the new Tetris game? I've always been a sucker for a good puzzle game, and a Tetris game from the guy that made Lumines? Sign. Me. Up.

As for the bundles, I'd be tempted to pick up the Moss/Astrobot bundle. I realize it doesn't have the controllers, but it seems like most of the good VR games don't use them anyway, and for the ones that do (Superhot, Skyrim, etc.), I have them on the Vive already.

I tried the demo and it was cool, but I mean ... it's Tetris. I've played that crap enough over the past 3 decades that I don't really need to play it anymore. The VR stuff was kinda meh IMO. Not a chance I'd buy it personally but again, it's just Tetris and I don't need to play it anymore. It's a bit trippy and the way the sound syncs to you moving pieces is neat, but that's about it.

I'm very interested in Beat Saber that comes out on the 20th. That game is going to be pretty damn sick. That does require the move controllers though. I do agree somewhat though that you can play most of the "must play" games without the move controllers. Although, one of the must haves is Farpoint and requires the Aim controller. God damnit I wish that game had a sequel that was one of the coolest experiences ever.

GameStop selling Astro Bot for $20 and Firewall for $10 this weekend. I'm gonna pick up Firewall even though I don't have PS+ anymore, just in case I get a trial or something at some point.

PS+ will be on sale during Black Friday for $40. I know Best Buy will have it (it's in their ad), and rumors are that Sony will have it too.

Turns out Firewall was a mistake and it's really $19.99, they fixed the price on the ad. So I'll be passing.

My buddy tried out Astro Bot last night for the first time and after the first level he took off the PSVR and was like "that's enough - I'm buying this - how much is it all?" and when I told him it's $100 off for the Moss/Astro Bot bundle over the holiday he got pretty excited. So he's going to pick it up this week.

I ordered mine the other night at Best Buy as they had an early access for Black Friday deals for the two higher tiers of members. The only awkward thing is that there's no in-store pick-up, and they seem to deliver everything on Friday. I'm guessing that they don't want you getting your good deals ahead of time? Anyway, I went with the Astro Bot and Moss bundle.

I did consider getting the other bundle with the wands... especially given how Sony is overcharging with a whopping price tag of $100 for that "PS3 reject hardware" that used to collect dust in Gamestop bargain bins and thrift store trash bins. (Nope... no hard feelings here. :p) Anyway, as I mentioned before, I already own Superhot and don't have much interest in Creed, so I'd have to spend another $40 for Astro Bot and $30 on Moss, which neither appear to be on Sony's PlayStation Store sale. (At least they weren't yesterday when I looked.) At that pricing, it's $300 ($200 + $100 wands) or $320 ($250 + $40 Astro Bot + $30 Moss).

Astro Bot is on sale everywhere this week for $20 just FYI.

If you have any interest in Skyrim PSVR let me know. I still have it sealed from last year lol. I'd let it go for a fair price.

Ah, is it just a digital code outside of the Sony store? I checked Sony's store and there didn't seem to be much in the way of good VR game deals.

Honestly, I'd probably get Skyrim VR on PC, but I appreciate the offer. It's sort of the awkward problem that VR is in. I don't think anyone would deny that PC VR is better in a few ways (e.g. tracking), but it just doesn't really have great support outside of what Oculus is doing. Most of the good games that I play on it are arcade style games.

Another game I'd like to play was the Until Dawn one, which I believe requires the wands. I'm pretty sure I got it for free through PlayStation Plus a few months ago, and it kind of reminds me of the arcade game CarnEvil.

No the physical copy of it is on sale everywhere. Game Stop and I know Amazon matched it. I think it's on sale at Best Buy too.

Until Dawn Rush of Blood can be played with the DS4 so you can still try it. That game was pretty rough for me when moving on the roller coaster and made me feel quite motion sick so I never really played it more than the first level. That was when I first got VR too so maybe my VR legs have gotten a bit better. I thought that game was kinda meh. I don't like that the guns in the game are "mounted" in the sense that it's not mapped 1 to 1, it's like they are on a turret and locked into place and you just aim.

Make sure to DL the demo disc too, I believe there are 2 of em.

Also, some must buys IMO that don't require move controllers (other than Astro Bot and Moss) are Statik and Resident Evil 7. RE7 is a no brainer, just an incredible and scary as shit game in VR. Statik is a puzzle game. It's on one of the demo discs so you can check it out for free. It's one of my favorite games on there.

Farpoint is also awesome but if you get it, get the bundle with the Aim controller. That is one of the best games on it.
