Playstation Move. Is it worth getting? Selling Wii.

Meh, the Move has far too few games for it. Typical Sony. Hardware comes first, the software comes much much later. I've barely used mine. Came with my slim bundle so I can't say I regret buying it. I just wish there was more for it.

I've concluded that having anything other than my PS3 is pointless as I never used my Xbox 360 so I sold it a few days ago and I never use my Wii anymore either, which I'm planning on trying to sell this coming week.

I use my PS3 constantly either for games or for media functions and was wondering if the Playstation Move brings anything to the table that makes it better than the Wii and a must have?

Who here has it and is glad they got it? Is anyone regretting buying it?

There's some cool titles for Move, Time Crisis: Razing Storm is a lot of fun if you like that type of game. Tumble on PSN is a lot of fun. I played a bit of Killzone 3 with the Move controller, it's alright, but it definitely has a learning curve.

I guess the real question/answer is how much did you enjoy using the motion controls on the Wii, because while the Move controller is a far more precise technology, it's still the same basic idea. Nothing wrong with that, but it's what it is.

the only motion controller worth it right now is Kinect. Playstation move is just a slightly advanced Wii remote controller and it looks like a dildo

Yep, he should get a Kinect w/ his PS3.

Bought a Kinect for Xmas for the kids, we played with it for like 3 days, haven't touched it since, until Child of Eden, there's no reason to own one. Even then, you have to play with the lights on, which kind of blows. At least with the Move, you can have the lights off when you play. If you've ever played Rez, you probably have a good idea of why it's better with the lights off.

The thing about "The Fight" is that they made a very poor decision with their implementation of stat gains. Low speed and technical stats actually add a delay to the responsiveness of the controls. It goes away once you max out the relevant stats, but that involves doing a good bit of repetitive training to get sufficient stats. And if you only play long enough to experience the game with bad stats, you'll think the game simply has bad controls.

It was not a wise way to implement that in a motion controlled game. It's otherwise lots of fun after you get to max in those stats, but until then it's a bit frustrating.

How long does it take to get it at an acceptable level?

Hard to say. I'd estimate I put 4 hours total into speed bag training for stat points, but only part of that went to max out the relevant stats. You could probably get both to max in an hour and a half to two hours.

But they will be two very boring hours.

Really fun game! Tracking is amazing. I had no problem beating the 1st three fighters before I had to train. Interestingly enough, my friend could not even beat the 1st fighter even after I had trained a lot and significantly increased my stats..... Still not sure what he does wrong because IRL he looks like he is fighting right.
