Playstation Move. Is it worth getting? Selling Wii.

I've concluded that having anything other than my PS3 is pointless as I never used my Xbox 360 so I sold it a few days ago and I never use my Wii anymore either, which I'm planning on trying to sell this coming week.

I use my PS3 constantly either for games or for media functions and was wondering if the Playstation Move brings anything to the table that makes it better than the Wii and a must have?

Who here has it and is glad they got it? Is anyone regretting buying it?

Absolutely not. I'm furious I ever bought the thing. I hear Killzone and Socom are good shooters for it, but IMO it's not worth it. The only thing I've found worth a shit for it is the sports game that comes in the pack, and that gets old real quick.

I'd avoid it unless you can pick it up used on the cheap.

Hmm. Good to know. I'm a FPS gamer and while kill zone 3 and socom sound fun to try with the move, I'm really not seeing myself wanting to point something at the screen all the time.

Only other gimmick beyond motion gaming in a FPS that I think would be cool to try would be a 3D setup. But I'm not willing to replace my non-3D capable LCD TV just for something I might not even like after trying it.

They sell gun adapter things that make te shooting games much more ergonomic, but still. Not exactly easy to play sitting down and comfortable, which is a perk of the consoles.

Have you tried Tiger Woods with the Move? If so, how was it? I loved playing golf games on the Wii and that alone would make it nearly worth it to me. I got rid of my Wii quite sometime ago.

If you weren't sold on motion controls by the Wii then the PS Move probably wont change your mind. I got a PS Move bundled with my PS3 last year, I played it for less than an hour before putting it away forever.

PS Move with KZ3 and Socom 4 is amazing.

Playing KZ3 with the move is comfortable and easy, screw the gun attachment, just hold them both in your lap side by side like a regular controller. If you want good reviews/info of PS Move look at iWaggle3D videos and he will show how you should play to be comfortable.

Its really not all that different except you move your wrist. Its a huge advantage in these games to have the Move, and it plays great too. However, it does take some tweaking to get the right feel down for the sensitivities, as its highly personal settings that will make or break how it feels.

Here is iWaggle3D's KZ3 Move Video:

As for Tiger Woods 12, I have played it with the move. The mapping is pretty good (especially rotation tracking) but I have space problems for swinging full swings and like to relax while playing golf, so that puts me off of playing with it.

That said I can't stand playing KZ3 or the Socom 4 beta without the Move.

All I've played is the demo of last years game, which they just patched in Move support. Worked okay for beginners but it was missing a lot of the fine control the Wii version gives. That should be better in this one as they had time to build in full support.

It was awesome for Heavy Rain.. and the sports stuff is fun when you have people over + alcohol.. but most of the time my move stuff collects dust.

Wow, that's an incredible review/video. I might actually pick up KZ3 just to play some more with my move.

I forgot about Heavy Rain. I was interested in that but wanted to wait till it dropped in price enough. I kind of feel the same way about KZ3. I won't be playing the MP regardless of if PSN is running or not, so it's only worth the SP to me.

That's why I haven't gotten KZ3 yet, I'm not really into MP shooters all that much, but it does seem like a neat trial for the move.

For me, Sports Champions is worth the $100 bundle by itself. I guess you need to ask yourself why you never played your Wii if you want to know if Move would be worth it.

I would agree

Sports Champions by itself is great.

But honestly, I figured out that I wanted Move by playing just Spots Champions in Best Buy. The fidelity of the tracking makes it pretty awesome.

I am not happy with the PS move. it has loads of potential but they are far to slow releasing games.

ohh KZ3 looks good

If you were able to enjoy golf games on the Wii, TW 12 w/ Move will be amazing to you. For me personally, Move makes it way too hard to control shot power and direction (and it messes up my real golf swing :p), so I just play with the controller.

To add to the thread in general, I have a Move setup and would not buy it again if I knew what I know now.

If you have to choose, skip KZ3 and get SOCOM for an FPS Move game. It works much better with it.

My biggest thing between the 2 is SOCOM has L3 to look around fast instead of having to try and combine aiming and look around in KZ3. So you either had to sacrifice deadzone for better movement or get more deadzone for faster aiming but crap movement. L3 as a toggle works awesome. Plus it uses the RL, fire mode switch, and pump action reload.

This is the biggest problem. The technology itself is very good. It's more accurate than the Wii IMO and has a ton of potential. There's simply no games coming out that are worth it. Most of what I was excited for was either terribly reviewed or not really Move supported throughout the whole game.

There needs to be more games that are able to use the Move. Its still fun to mess with but doesn't have too many games at the moment.

I picked mine up when i saw it at amazon for 69 bucks. Played it for a little but in the end i just didn't use it much. Glad i was able to make a little profit on it and not be out of money when i got rid of it. Having said that i will probably never get it again.
