Playing with memory settings

And you said that upping the voltage didn't help? ddr442, jeez!!
Have you tried (or thought of trying) those memory coolers? Would they work with our ddr with the heat spreaders?

no Mikki ~ you need to replace the heatspeaders.
i dont think its worth the trouble.

my ram just wont run 444ddr (100%) stable at any settings or voltage.

you could always "hang" a 80mm fan over the ram for testing purposes.
it may help a little - but i dont think its gonna get you 10+hours outta prime95.

i do most of my stress testing with a slightly "warmer then normal" room temp anyways.
id hate to find out that a 2*C rise in room temp would crash my system

Thugsrook Maybe you can now run your ram at 444ddr...you should try again if you have not already done so...
note: many ram needed a so call "burn-in" to achieve higher o/c

it crashes P95 in 56mins every time no matter what i do

I was playing around a little with my memory timings then i saw this thread. Some thing weird happend when I was testing. If norton and folding@home are turned on then I got higher scores then if they were off. My scores are very low due to me having to use integrated video for the moment.

motherboard is an Abit-bg7
166 fsb (DDR333) for all the tests.
Sandra memory scores Int/Float.
2.5/6/3/3 1998/1999
2.5/6/2/3 2019/2021
2.5/6/2/2 2038/2047
2.5/5/2/2 2045/2044
2/5/2/2 2034/2035

I am going to run these tests again when I get my radeon later in the week

Thanks for the info Lizardman, keep us updated on your new scores. Notice how big of a jump you got adjusting RAS to CAS and RAS precharge as opposed to CAS Latency? It follows the curve of what we're finding, thanks for participating!
