Players pass out, get sick during extreme video game battle.

"People were passing out and getting physically ill," leaders of the player guild said in a forum post. "We decided to end it before we risked turning into a horrible news story about how video games ruin people's lives."

Too late.

Indeed.

Virginity for life.

This is more detail
Very disturbing. I don't understand what is on SE's dev team's minds. This type of publicity is bad IMO. I doubt anyone saw this and wanted to play. Some of my friends and I saw this and had the opposite effect, we were thinking of coming back and this definitely made us throw that idea out reminding us how bad the time sinks in this game are.

I thought 30 mins for a boss was extremely long, but jesus 18 hrs? wtf.. But then I'd think that the idiots would stop after 30 mins seeing that the boss keeps healing itself completely. Obviously they need more DD's and better buffs 😛

They should definitely put this experience on their job resumes.
It shows perseverence, working well with others and other useful skillz.

If youre going to put "fought pandemonium warden" on your resume you have to at least WIN 😀

Wow, I'd have given up after two hours, tops, but then again I'm not the kind of guy that gets into that kind of game either.

That's ridiculous. I could never play a game for so long.

played an online wargame that resets every month. at the start of a new war (12am EST), you have to rescout the entire map to find loot, resources, claim territory, etc.

you're only allowed 5 territories on reset day, so you have to scout the entire world for best since everything is randomized every reset. it takes 9-12hrs to scout EVERY single sector.

several dozen or so hardcore players did that EVERY month. one of them was me 😱

ahh.. those were the times...

You know, most probably, there is a trick to beating him. I think that SE devs said it was meant to take over 18 hours normally, but there are other bosses that have stupidly high amounts of HP, yet doing something special made it much more manageable. So its probably a case of SE devs being cruel and not giving any hints as to what needs to be done to beat this guy.

I remember the Everquest days of learning an encounter like The Rathe or Emperor Ssra. I was an enchanter (both of those encounters relied heavily on enchanters), which meant that I had to 'mez' 2 mobs every 30 seconds (making sure it didnt resist) for a full hour while keeping an eye on mana or it would cause complete chaos and a total wipe (no breaks obviously). The floor would be littered with those 'mana rods' I forget the name that you had to pick up to keep your mana going the whole fight. 4 to 6 clerics would all heal one tank in a complete heal rotation to keep the tank alive, while 2 other clerics would have to continuously heal the offtanks who were keeping the other mobs occupied. This was when the encounters were yet to be beaten and were at their strongest. Every 50-80 players in the guild had to be at their top shape for a full hour, one miss by any player and you'd have lost all the work you did and wiped.

What a rush! That was about 8-9 years ago.

Then, I got a life. WTF was I thinking😕.

X-Zone --> Warp
😉

New game enemy takes a solid day to defeat
Introduced in the game's latest downloadable update, the boss monster "Pandemonium Warden" remained perfectly fit after a group of high-level adventurers wailed away at it nonstop for over 18 hours straight.
😕
