Get a couple of these tourniquets. If you get an arterial bleed, apply this immediately because seconds count in austere environments. When someone says that you could fashion one from a belt or something, they're not likely going to be there. Trained medics take, on-average, 3 minutes to apply a field expedient tourniquet. You can lose a liter of circulating blood in 1 minute from a femoral bleed. You are going alone.
Edit: You'll need to be conscious to implement whatever rescue plans you plan on, too.
