Sony released this game in May of 2003. It's alive and kicking and it Rules. Check out the link on my sigs. I'm working with the PR people to post up some free trials. If you play it you won't be disappointed. This game offers a few things that now game out there offers.

I'll post some movie links up as well. Enjoy and please check it out.

The biggest team always wins, there is VERY little skill involved in planetside.

I beta tested it, beta tested the expansion, and played a 15 day free trial, i will never pay for that game.

Im really sorry to thread crap, but i just dont want people who like CS or BF to think that this is a traditional FPS, it is very dumbed down.

I beta tested planetside as well and I completely hated the game. It was just terrible. In theory it's a good idea, but in execution... no thanks.

I didn't play beta, played a year ago for a few months but lost interest due to retarded cr5's.
You won't get that much action out of CS I promise you.
Least I haven't come across any CS servers that have 300+ people in a battle at one time.
;)
Tempted to fire it back up and see if it's gotten any better, during the day it would be pretty boring and you could take over continents with less than a squad fairly easily.

I played, it was fun for a while.

Then they merged servers and removed my BR19 TR for a BR6 NC toon. By the time I got back online it was too late to restore from a backup. No more.

Looks like it's $20.00 now with all expansions.
Not to shabby.

I played this for the first 3 months it was released. I actually ran a fairly successful clan/guild/whatever it was called, had around 60 people before I handed over the reigns and quit playing. I really enjoyed it in the time I played it, as sometimes the battles were very even with about 50 players in each factions duking it out over one command post. However, most of the time it was hard to find a decent amount of enemy to fight, and it was hard to coordinate a decent amount of friendlies to put up that fight. The world was just way too damn big for the amount of people playing.

I do, however, remember loving to train in flying the big transporter, taking 10 or so troops to the battle, telling them to chute out just when I'm over the right spot, then finding a safe place to land my craft and join in on the battle. Nothing funner than trying to fly in and get your troops where they need to be before being shot down.

LOL. It's not like that anymore.

Emerald: USA East
Markov: USA West
Werner: Europe

The only time you could take a continent with an entire squad is at night like 2am. You could maybe ghost a cavern. But you usually get a response because of benefits.

The Ranks are Battlerank, highest 23 and command rank: highest is 5

man, i played PS for over a year. SOE is retarded, they only listened to the ppl who were complaining and b!tching because they sucked at the game. so SOE made the game noob friendly and gave them BFRs, then the ppl who were complaining in the first place started b!tchin that BFRs needed a nerf. about that time everyone from my outfit said its time to move to a new game. i miss the game sometimes, but mostly miss pwning noobs and have them send me a hate tell saying i'm hacking and they were going to report me, and i also miss running with my outfit boys Hostile Takeover aka [Ht]. we were hands down the best outfit on markov. man, i also miss running with Serious Gamers aka SG on Emerald. oh well, i'm having fun playing WoW.

I also beta tested the game. At first I loved it, playing a stealther and knifing people and playing a sniper. But then they just patched it to the point it wasn't even worth it anymore. Not to mention the replay value is lacking. The based were all similar and the tactics were all the same. I like variety, thats why now we just play UT2004 onslaght with random mods and random links. It mixes it up a bit.

I thought about ordering that & downloading it but I had some hesitation when thinking about a download format. Would i be able to redownload it if I had to format my hard drive? My buddy is playing it a lot and loves the game and I really want to try it out, but am worried about the download. Does anyone know for sure?
