How the heck can they send a trojan to your system?

Maybe he saw someone with name Virus in game and freaked out. 😛

In all seriousness, does anyone know a site that tells you actual dollar amount to unlock everything for certain classes/armor? I remember seeing awhile back that it was almost $400 to unlock everything, but i would not mind spending $30-50 to unlock the classes I play the most.

Or maybe I posted the actual info and told you when it happened, but you know everything.

Anyhow, is anyone else getting sick of all the vehicles? This game feels like World of Tanks. Planetside 1 had great infantry battles in the bases and towers and this one is just vehicle spam. Kinda getting seriously boring. :\

It was not from Planetside 2 servers, so yes i know that much. People don't just "pass something" on to computer while playing, you had to download something in the first place that would let it. Most likely a false positive.

Steam/steamapps/downloading/218230/Planetside.exe
HEUR:Trojan.Win32.Generic

Kaspersky caught it on my 3rd or 4th day of playing. :\

"HEUR" is a tag for heuristic scanning, given it's listed as Win32.Generic, it's a false positive.

There's next to no way in hell that Steam or Sony would be serving up viruses knowingly, and there's no backchannels for users to put files back up into the CDN.

Planetside 1's infantry battles were nothing compared to PS2's honestly.

Got a refund on the premium membership till they have proper multi-monitor support.

I've honestly given up on multi-monitor in this game, at least for now.

It gives me a chance to play on Ultra graphics. Set the FOV to 70, and single monitor play is still great.

Once both optimizations and better triple-monitor support come down the line, I'd like to use all three monitors again but I'm still worried about what graphical settings I'll have to settle with while always having smooth and playable framerates.

You're forgetting the rootkit that Sony distributed on many of their music CD's which they claimed was a DRM solution.

My only major gripe with this game is the ridiculous grenade spam in large battles. I was really hoping the devs would realize that large numbers means a crazy number of grenades being thrown around. Honestly it's laughable when you look at big infantry fights in bases. They should have made grenades a cert like C4, and set the limit at just one.

There is a lot of that going on. Was in two big base defense fights in Indar last night where the nade spam was just amazing. Well beyond CoD levels.

+1 I had the same issue when I recently put together a new pc. Kaspersky has a well known issue where it will sometimes flag Steam with a false positive.

So how did you guys make out with certs this weekend? Came away with about 350 certs.

I didn't really count. All I know is I scored A2A missiles for my reaver (500CP), but that was going in to the weekend around 300CP saved. I also spent CP upgrading ammo counts and a bunch of other misc certs along the way.

I logged out last night somewhere between 150 and 200CP in the bank.

All in all I think I probably net around 500 or so.

Good to know, thanks guys. I feel safer now. I did uninstall Planetside2 though on Sunday. It's just not doing it for me at all. This one just made me miss the first one. Of course, I played before it got out of control with the walkers or whatever they were called. Lots of infantry with small amounts of vehicles back then.

Anyhow, the game looked good on my system and ran smooth as silk. I hope you guys get plenty of enjoyment out of it. I'm probably gonna go try to work on my Steam backlog for awhile. I've got a few games from the THQ Humble promo I need to get into now.

I went ahead and purchased some station cash, I really don't have enough time to sink hours into this game to get some of the unlocks I want. Looking back I probably should have gotten the subscription. Since the cash only allows you to unlock weapons and not the perks.

I've really only unlocked the v10 sniper rifle, and reduced the amount of time it takes for my cloaking to regen. So far I am liking this game. I killed a sniper out in the open, and then he came looking for me 3 more times. It was an XP farm. Once players on foot get too far out in the open they are pretty much screwed.

It would be wise to wait for a station cash sale before buying more. Also you can check the daily deals to see if it's something you want. I wonder if they'll have vehicle weapons on sale, I would like to get some for the lightning and MBT.
