Is this actually a good documentary, or is most of the appeal of it the purty pictures? I couldn't care less about the visuals, I like content that I can learn from. There's a thread on the IMDB boards that is reinforcing my concerns.
Ya, that dancing bird was in the "Pole to Pole" episode if I remember correctly. That's one crazy creature, and induces laugh-out-loud moments when you watch that thing start it's dances.Originally posted by: Fingolfin269
Holy Bird of Paradise Batman. I saw the 'Mountains' episode yesterday and at the end when they are doing the behind-the-scenes stuff it showed a bird of paradise turn into a freaky smiley face. I want one.
Anyone know where I can find some good high res shots of that?

Is the Sigourney Weaver version better? I haven't seen either. I'm thinking about picking this up in HD-DVD but it's only available with the British guy.

Let's just say Weaver is not world renowned as a nature film narrator. Sir David Attenborough owns her in the nature film narrator field.

I don't know though. I'm thinking that 11 hours of a British accent would get annoying.

I'd go ahead and order it but I'm not sure which way I'll end up going HD-DVD or Blu-Ray
