I just put it on my Netflix queue. Was tempted to buy it but then I look at my DVD collection and realize I rarely re-watch anything, even my favorite shows.

Mostly purty pictures... however, they took an enormous amount of time with it and there are many things they have captured that have never been captured before.

Holy Bird of Paradise Batman. I saw the 'Mountains' episode yesterday and at the end when they are doing the behind-the-scenes stuff it showed a bird of paradise turn into a freaky smiley face. I want one.

Anyone know where I can find some good high res shots of that?

Ya, that dancing bird was in the "Pole to Pole" episode if I remember correctly. That's one crazy creature, and induces laugh-out-loud moments when you watch that thing start it's dances.

Is the Sigourney Weaver version better? I haven't seen either. I'm thinking about picking this up in HD-DVD but it's only available with the British guy.

Let's just say Weaver is not world renowned as a nature film narrator. Sir David Attenborough owns her in the nature film narrator field.

read up :)

I've been watching these on HD and they are incredible. I watched the one with the snow leopard hunting the other day. It took them 3 years of waiting to capture that on film.

 Very cool stuff.

I don't know though. I'm thinking that 11 hours of a British accent would get annoying.

Lol, now I understand why Discovery had to wait and get an American accent on it. IT is because of people like you! I am like, why would you have to "Dub" something that is in English :)

Same here , and I already have a HD-DVD player !! I'm just leery of buying discs, especially now that the HD format seems to be getting its butt kicked.

We have them all saved on HD Tivo though, so I may wait till the price (and the format war) cools off a bit.
