IMO it is a better deal than a 19" because 19" LCD are just 1" bigger with no upgrade in screen real estate
the screen size of the 19" monitor is roughly 11.4% bigger in size

the 1800fp has a thin bezel as well

if you were to get one I would go with a 20" that does 1600x1200 or a 17/18 with good specs

Can the 1800fp do portrait mode? I know the 1901fp does.

what is portrait is that where you keep the same as the native res but when you change your size to say 640x480 than it is centered with black around?

I have no idea if it does or not but in what situation would you want to use that in but if that that feature is important to you than by all means go with the 1901 fp

I'm sure that you already know this but that is a KILLER DEAL, barely over $700 and you can have a DUAL 18" LCD setup.

Back in the day, 17" LCD's were king and cost $1,500 ... my how technology and times have changed.

what are the prices on each because if they cost relatively the same as an 1800FP I would go for that

without specs it is hard to tell

Bought a Dell 1800FP earlier this year and have been very happy with it. Think I'm going with the 1901FP this time and wait for the 20" LCD to come down a little more before I upgrade again.

yeah I know I would go dual but I have a 2000FP for myself already and this LCD is going to my brother who is on a crappy 17" non flat CRT

quite a big jump I dont think he has the space either since he is living in a dorm

great deal and dont forget Fatcash the extra 3% is like an extra $15 - 20

I got an email from dell SB a couple days ago. It didnt have a general 10% off coupon though, it just had 10% off of inspiron and lattitude notebooks. I am signed up to emails from dell SB, so did you guys get a different mail then I did?

I would like to go for the 1800FP with 35 off 400, 10% regular discount and the 10% dell SB stackable on top.

Anyone have any input?

Actually if anyone has an extra one of those coupons I could put it to good use right away!
email me at corystockton@yahoo.com...

Thanks!

Portrait mode is where you rotate the screen so that the length is now the longer side. See here
