I guess in Vegas we are more customer service oriented. I pay my takeout orders with Bennies all the time without any issue. If I ever had a delivery driver that could not make change I would just send it back and call another shop who could take care of me.
I still say that if you can't break a 50 you shouldn't be delivering pizza.

Maybe you can't get it through your retarded skull. In many places it is a rule put in place by the management, not the delivery drivers, to not carry any more money than absolutely necessary on them.

I use take out and delivery as the same term jackass and guess what I do get a $25 order delivered and never had a problem paying with a $100
and we, the intelligent ones that actually knows the difference between take out and delivery are to assume you are too stupid to know the difference and use the terms interchangeably??

This thread makes me incredibly sad for delivery people. Have a little empathy, will you? If you were driving around, knocking on strangers' doors, would you want to have a lot of cash on you? More cash = bigger target.

I guess I'm one of those scumbags - I don't ever carry more than 15-20 dollars on me per run. LIke I said - you have a 50 - sorry, either cough up a check, call my store and offer a credit card, or I'm leaving with the pizza to make up for the money I'm going to loose on you.
I'll just take the pizza back to the store, and it'll get taken care of. No big loss for me, no dinner for you.

Probably a franchise store. IIRC from my papa john's corporate days the split was about 85/15 franchise to company stores.

It's in all of their handbooks - policies can be ammended per market and per franchise on an individual basis.
Las Vegas isn't exactly the best example - I can understand why they'd need change, since alot of customers probably carry large bills on them while they waste their money gambling.
Just because it happened to you once doesn't mean that all delivery drivers are trying to scam you.
besides, even corporate policy would recognize the difference between Vegas and the rest of the US.
I'm going to try this one more time, then I give up.
In this thread, three different posters (including myself) who currently work or have worked as pizza delivery drivers have told you that we are not allowed by our employers to carry more than X amount of money on us.
We do not want to carry our own personal cash on us because either we don't want to lose our own money in the event a robbery does happen, or we simply do not have the cash (in DrPizza's case). If we do get robbed, the employer does not cover any personal losses we may experience.
How hard is it to tell the place that they need to have change for larger bills when you place the order? It takes all of 5 seconds, and in some cases they'll be able to accomodate you, and others they won't.
The worst thing that happens for us if you don't want the pizza because we don't have change is we lose a buck or two in gas, the store eats the cost of the pizza and provides free lunch/dinner to the employees with it, and you are blacklisted from ordering from our store again. Not really much of a loss for us.

That's much different than not having change for a 50 dollar bill. You are expected as a delivery driver to provide change for the expected bills customers are going to give you (usually rounding to the nearest 20).
