The Pine To Palm 100-mile Endurance Run

I have heard great things about Rogue Valley Runners and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest is unquestionable. I have been wanting to sign up for this race since last year's edition and now that I'm committed to running a 100 miler this year I am having a hard time NOT going to Ultrasignup straightaway...

Honestly guys, is this a race beyond a first time 100 miler or is this as likely a candidate as any other?

Pros:
1. Point to point race
2. Beautiful scenery
3. Well supported (for a point to point race)
4. Smoother single track than I'm used to here in the northeast

Cons:
1. Point to point race in a remote area
2. Plenty of elevation change
3. Possible inclement weather
4. First 100 mile race

So what do you think? Out of my league or within the realm of possibility?

One of my first thoughts was, are there some practical bail-out points in the middle 50 miles, in case it turns out to be too much for your first 100-miler. I remember you wanted to drop over 30 pounds before your target event, so like you say, a challenging route in a remote area might not be the best way to start off your 100-mile racing.

Do they happen to have a .GPX file of the route?

IHateMyJob2004 - I have done a 50 miler before. The longest training run for the 100 mile race is a 50 mile race, which I'll do again this year.

mechBgon - http://www.roguevalleyrunners.com/P2P100/images/p2p_100_elevation_1.pdf I can't find a .gpx but there is the elevation profile. Regarding the bail out points, you do that at aid stations so yes, I can if I need to. And about the weight, I'll be down to my fighting weight by the time I do the 50 miler in early summer.
