to be honest I'm really excited for these 😀

Waiting for benchmarks...
Not likely good given the stealth launch, unfortunately. At 4GHz, the top bin should provide ~10% better performance @ stock. Big question whether it will overclock higher and what the power curve will look like.
These better be at least 10% faster per clock, overclock better, and consume less power for that price. Why would I buy Piledriver when I can get the FX 8120 for $140-$160?
That jives with the ETA at BLT here ... http://www.shopblt.com/cgi-bin/shop...011003000503_BPW4486P.shtml&order_id=!ORDERID!I havent confirmed it 100% yet but the NDA for the PD ends October 12th

Funny man!:biggrin:Why would you get an 8120 when you can get a sempron 130 for 30$ and get better [performance 😉
Why would you get a sempron 130 when you can get a pentium mmx for 0$ and get better [performance 🙄Why would you get an 8120 when you can get a sempron 130 for 30$ and get better [performance 😉

IIRC you cannot OC that G630. On the other hand you can OC 4xxx/6xxx series of chips to ~4.4-4.8Ghz on air cooling. Difference between Pentium and 4100 both at stock is around 8% in min and avg fps. OCing the FX4100 easily brings you much more than 8%(~25-30% over stock is common), so you are better of with this chip. You aint joking!!!
AT stock my SandyBridge G850 Dual cores Beats the 8120 at stock!!!!!

"It turns out that the budget-oriented Sandy Bridge-based Pentium family performs very well in games. Specifically, Intel's $70 Pentium G630 beat the FX-4100, -6100, and -8120 in our recent sub-$200 CPU gaming"
The Sand Bridge architecture blows away the BD design and you can feel the difference in games and everything.
8 cores@4 Ghz@$250? That's a steal!
Notice I didn't state which side is doing the stealing.
