Pigs to be trained to guard Jewish settlements

An organisation in Israel has gained rabbinical approval to train pigs to guard Jewish settlements in the West Bank.

If they could train the pigs to actually attack, wow. I grew up on a pig farm, and one of our boars did quite a number on my dad with his tusks, with out even meaning too. I can only imagine what would happen if the boar was a trained fighter.

it amazes me how cultures can "outlaw" a certain animal to point where you'd go to hell if you touch it. Its just a poor dumb animal. No dumber or dirtier than the next one.

I like the idea but instead of the little pink piggy they have pictured they should have killer boars (as mentioned earlier). Or get that offspring of that 1000 pound pig that was killed in Texas. Wild pigs are mean, most people do not hunt them without a very large semi-auto sidearm in case of emergency. Plus the whole fact that they couldn't touch the pigs would be a bonus.

It just shows that cultures ignorance. Ham is good, bacon is good!

Plus, as pointed out earlier, pigs can be trained to be mean as hell. Sounds like an interesting defense strategy.

I'm suprised as well. Pigs are actually pretty smart, believe it or not.

I knew somebody with a pot bellied pig for a pet and when it wanted to be left alone it would go to its room and close the door.
