SERIOUSLY WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU !!!

ooufff, im sorry but even a single mention of ... bleeurgh pie makes me vomit. And i bite into lemons.

Im gonna try listing the best pies even though my brain is panicking now, because he's scared ill feed him you-know-what.

1. The empress of pies, defender of tastydom, HRH The Banoffi Pie

2. Pecan pie. Thank you America.

3. Cheesecake. Thank you again, America.

Im divided on fruit pies, i love some cherry pie but despise rhubarb and blueberry (IT'S NOT A MUFFIN GAWDAMNIT), and even apple pie can be bad if the apple isnt fully soft and sweet.

4. Cherry pie

5. Apricot pie

Not-a-pie: tiramisu'

Er...that's it. Don't care for savory/main-course pies. Too stodgy. Even for fruit I prefer crumble.

Also, why is shepherd's pie called that? Should a shepherd really be eating the sheep? Isn't he employed to keep them alive? If he's eating them, maybe his employer should be inviting him to a job-appraisal meeting?

Why is cottage pie called cottage pie when it's not made from cottages?

Yeah, I bet it's delicious but I'd never make it. Looked up recipes and I can't justify all the sugar/molasses, and of course, most any pie if made the traditional way has a load of fat. When I make pie nowadays (it's rare!) I use a lot less fat. My crusts aren't going to win any prizes, they tend to be somewhat tough and brittle.

Well, this is a beautiful video that shows you how to make Pennsylvania Dutch Shoo Fly Pie:

I don't really like enough pies to have enough for a top five...

Pumpkin
Apple
Cheesecake (not a cake)
Pot

Here's the pumpkin pie I made last year. The crust (shortening-based) tends to be a little thin around the rim, but it's still good. I use real sugar pumpkins, none of that canned crap. Gonna make another for Thanksgiving this year.

Trying to make pie healthy is silly and futile.

Ah! Perhapsy. Guarantee, in a couple weeks they will serve up some wonderful desserts and I will not abstain! But I don't make a habit of indulging in such things. My doctor wants me to have a blood test now followup and my cholesterol has to come in under the bar...

Unpossible and possibly inhuman.
Different strokes for different folks.

If you don't eat too much sugar, even 85% cocoa chocolate will taste sweet. How sweet high cocoa chocolate tastes is a barometer for how well you're doing in limiting your sugar intake. You don't want diabetes, etc. I sure don't. Health metrics, yeah, I pay attention.

I've only made the Alton Brown one a few times, interesting with the corn syrup and no blind bake of the pie crust. I'll make this one, always willing to try and find great pies. I ought to make it for Thanksgiving this year, wife likes pumpkin pie and I don't much care for it, though with a ginger snap crust it does taste better than the flour/butter one.

If I make a pumpkin pie it's with my Japanese pumpkins (kabochas). They are way way sweeter than your orange pumpkin and very very tasty. The cooked flesh can be eaten straight, no garnish, and certainly, no sugar. I grew around 185lb this year and I have most indoors now to be available to me over the coming 8 months or so. Total was 51, averaging 3.6lb each, bigger on average than most years because less plants came up from my seeding 'cause it was raining as I seeded the ground and wasn't as thorough in my planting technique.

Cheese cake. Well, I got this from a GF and have made it many times. It's delicious, nutritious and exceptionally healthy for a dessert:

German Cottage Cheese Cake

2 t. yeast dissolved in 1/4 c. water
2 T. sugar
2 T. butter or margarine
1/4 c. milk (don't add too much!!)
salt
1 1/4 c. all purpose flour
some cardamom (1/4 t.)

Mix the above and leave at room temperature covered for 3 hours or "until airy". Stir down. With floured fingers, press dough over bottom and half way up sides of lightly greased 9 inch cheese cake pan with removable sides. Set aside.

1 qt. blender smooth cottage cheese. Regular, lowfat or non-fat.
3/4 to 1 c. sugar (It is very fine with 3/4 c.)
3/4 c. all purpose flour
3 eggs
1 t. vanilla
4 T. melted butter or margarine (optional)
Some grated lemon peel and lemon juice

Pour these mixed ingredients into the dough-lined pan. Bake about 1 hour in a 350 degree oven. Cool and chill. To rewarm, cover and bake 1/2 hour at 350 degrees, or microwave.

Remove pan sides. Can spoon about 3 cups sliced strawberries, peaches or nectarines (sweetened to taste) on top, but is excellent as is.
