Mmmm shoofly! It’s been decades since I’ve been in PA Dutch territory and had a good shoofly pie
Forgot about shoofly. I love a good one, but they can go wrong for my tastes pretty easily. A bad one is a bland sugary mess.

I can't imagine eating pumpkin pie without a mountain of whipped cream/Cool hWhip.

There's a hell of a lot of sugar in this thread! I can see why you guys catch the diabetes so easily! :p

Blackberry and apple makes a pretty good crumble! Rubarb is better though!
I usually only make crumbles when I'm desperate to use up all the blueberries I picked.

My only experience with rhubarb is strawberry/rhubarb jam - which is delicious - but I still don't know what isolated rhubarb tastes like.

Not so fast, we're not ALL fat. I use a lot less sugar than normal when baking with fruit because I like things to be on the tart side. A raspberry or blackberry pie where you can taste the natural acid of the fruit is 1000% better than one where the dominant character is the sweetness of the sugar.
