There's lots of stuff there.

Infrasonic? It is and explains why things go south real fast if it's turned up. Most soundcards don't go that low and most consumer equipment has infrasonic filtering to "save" amp headroom. (this is a good thing really because 99% of the speakers out there cannot go super low)

Think of waves rolling up and down in a pond and that's what it feels like. A good sub will "come to life" with this track. A poor one (as long as it's getting the signal hehe) will move - think of the blaupunkt ad with the humping bunnies on the rear deck.

I love these kinds of threads with pics. Dude, where's the couch? Is this a basement bedroom in your 'rents abode or your own place? If it's your own, why would you have a bed in your basement? Anyway, looks good. Nice minimalist feel going. Put a couple carpets down though. :p

Here's a sweep starting at 12Hz and ending at 24Hz. (1 octave). Should be much easier. :)

I didn't really hear anything or feel anything until I turned it up quite a bit. I was listening at about -40dB with winamp at about 50% since it's 3am ;)

A little work with the equalizer and turning the volume up to -25dB got things shuddering :)

Great Scott! That definitely needs no equalization! What kind of soundcard you using?

Great Scott! That definitely needs no amplification! What kind of soundcard you using?

I mean I turned down everything above 60hz so I could raise the volume overall as to not disturb my girlfriend.

Using and X-Mystique for the soundcard.

hehehe sort of like a low pass with the eq. Gotcha.

Yeah not all sound cards (def no onboard) goes down super low. Just doesn't happen - most start the roll of death in the 20's! :Q

Exactly :)

I'm just using PCM digital output from it so hopefully it's getting everything.

Is seems the windows in here in the computer room along with the door to the sunroom shake at around 12 to 15hz while the windows just to the right of the sub seem to like about 18 to 20hz ;)

There's also something creaking somewhere around the side door. It feels like a submarine movie hehe.

I sent some bass demo mp3s I had lying around to agaboogaboo earlier today, but I think that 12-24hz one takes the cake

Yeah, it's my parent's place, the basement is my own little area, pool table in the next room over, I love it ;)

And yes, I need to get some carpets, but only for certain spots because I like this flooring. yoyoyohowsdajello has noticed that this sub (we both have ones from the PC+ lineup) moves across the floor even with the little rubber feet they gave, I'll be putting some kind of small carpet/rug underneath some of the equipment, maybe a strip all the way across underneath all the equipment.

Does that generate sine waves?

How about a 1/4Hz to 32Hz sweep?

sweep

Careful with that one!

Have access to any good music in general that already has some nice bass?

How about some pipe organ stuff that makes pipe organ lovers cream their pants? ;)

hmmm... I'm kind of scared.

Agaboogaboo, you go first and tell me how loud you can make it before your sub bottoms out ;)

Haha, I didn't turn that one up much, maybe -45dB or -35dB, his stuff is meant for like $20k+ systems it seems :p

Right... where are the surrounds and rears? If you're gonna go w/ just the fronts, why bother getting the sub?

you have a nice large room which i envy but almost nothing in it, seems too big for you. Carpeting might help it seem smaller and reduce the echo effect you probably have going right now.
Also i think it's time for you to invest in an Audio/Video rack or a nice TV stand for that new TV you need! lol

very envious d00d
