kinda glad that day was raining, the site looks very dramatic.

I went a little overboard adding in grain *correction, this one I didn't really add any, wrong pic, heh*. Probably would have been not as bad if I could have moved the people out of the way =) It's also heavily cropped, near 1:1

Thanks.
I've never advocated getting the latest and greatest body when the lens, light and photographer is the most important part of the picture.

I only upgraded for the larger view finder and micro focus adjust. The other things are just bonuses.

very nice pics on your blog. love the macros. and I was surprised to see a lot of those pics were taken with the original Rebel.

alfa147x, i like the pics you posted. it's got a really soft warm feel to it. aside from maybe the time of day, what else can i do to get that kind of soft/warm feel when i'm taking photos?

Im glade you like my pictures!
Yup took those two around 6 pm so around the time the sun is setting

It's a 3-exposure HDR
I used:
Photomatix Pro
Photoshop cs4 + Topaz Adjust
and Apple's Aperture

I like HDR's a lot but it's difficult trying not to make them look fake, so I normally ask someone if the picture looks fake or not

So to answer your question, I use the HDR technique for that 'warm' feel

I think this thread should have a max image posting of 640 x 480
it just messes with the cleanliness of the forums

Whoa, we finally got images displayed in the PHOTO forum!
I love you vBulletin! but it would be even nicer if we could customize a few buttons to add some common tags like the or [b] ones.

Some fisheye action!

Just make sure you have a large amount of coin...because holy mother of god was it expensive. If you wish I could post a few more of my pics.

I also have a panorama of Matira Point/Matira Beach, however it'd be WAY too large to post on here, if you wish I could e-mail it to you, just PM me.

Thanks!

The lens used is the Nikkor 10.5mm F2.8 (fisheye). It can be a very tricky lens to use on landscape, but it's heaps of fun when it comes to creative candids and portraits.

But the real star of the show that makes those types of shot possible is the flash, which is probably my biggest asset(s).

Here are some shots taken with available light only. I think most of those came from a Fuji F30.
