Well, I finally got my reverse macro rings that allow me to mount my 30mm backwards on my 180mm for a super macro lens that gets me a 6x magnification of the subject. I added onto this my 65mm worth of extension tubes and I'm in the 10x magnification range.
Macro at this level gets absolutely rediculous. The ballpoint is right in front of me, but just FINDING it in the viewfinder is a huge chore because of the extremely shallow depth of field, which at this magnification is measured in the fractions of millimeters, and the dimness of the viewfinder.
Note that the ball is only about a millimeter in diameter.
