Welllllll........................................
There is also 2x120 mm fans and 2x80 mm fans with 1 80 mm fan and 192 mm fan in the psu of that beast. so whhen I start it up, it sounds like a jet engine .

That's a gow-awful lot of computers my friend. But it looks like it's coming along very well.

I'm not too sure how I'd feel about garage floor paint though. I'm all for a staining and clear coat finish.

My qauestion is why did you only go half way??? all that work and it looks like ass, I dont say that to crap on you thread but take all your stuff down and prep the crap out of the desk then prime it then lay on a few coats of some good Oil Base enamel the same color as the rest of the trim in that room then show us how nice it looks.
😀

I will be painting it with garage floor paint. I figure if the paint can stand up to being driven on, it can take what I throw at it.

Bad move, I was a painting contractor for 15 years that paint is for garage floors not wood, use the right material for the job.

Not a good idea, he used paing grade wood not stain grade.

my god, what are you doing with all those computers and monitors? that room must feel like summer all year round.

WOW! That's a whole lot of desk. I am in a similar situation (have been for a while) in that I need something custom.

Scott,

While that looks ghetto it's cheaper to build yourself and you know it's solid construction!

Thanks for sharing with us 🙂

Looks like a nice start, spend a weekend sanding and staining and it'll look great. Maybe put white LEDs or cold cathodes under that monitor shelf for lighting.

Can you show some pics of the underneath of the desk? I'd like to see how you have it attached to the wall and where you have the supports, especially for the corner piece.

Under desk pics are coming, as well as some others. I plan to illuminate the room using some rope lighting.as well as I do have some other under the shelf stuff.

I refuse to believe that the ridiculous desk image posted by Ulfwald is actually his and will continue to refuse to believe until I see a new image of him sitting at the desk holding a sign that says "Yes, Nik, this is my desk."

😛

That isn't a desk, it's a workbench.

Well the title of the thread is "Pics of My home made desk"

Inside bedroom = desk

Inside garage = workbench.

what are you doing with such a computer, with so much HD space?

Music, movies, Linux ISOs, and ummm training films. 😀

It also holds my apps, drivers, and other assorted software. I repair computers as a side business, and some times it takes me a while to find drivers for some old and obscure piece of hardware the customer is just not ready to replace, so when I finally locate a driver, I hang on to it.
