Hmm...from a medical point of view, that is very interesting to see the tendons and musale and whatnot in your hand. And to think how incredibly complex it is to transplant them.

you'd probably make a good surgeon, with that kind of approach to the body

kabota, are you stuffing the wound with wet/dry compresses? If so, the appearance of uncooked steak is what you want. The constant exposure of sterile saline is what keeps infection away but man does it hurt when those compresses dry out and you have to pull that crap out of there. Also, at every doctor's visit he/she probably works the wound with tweezers cleaning stuff out of there.

I had a large puncture wound (4" x 2") on my lower leg a few years ago and had to do the wet/dry route for weeks for it to heal. The original attempt at suturing the wound didn't take. They took the sutures out after 8 days and the wound split wide open again like a face hugger pod. I now have a very conspicuous scar there.

yes I am, and you definately speak the truth about it hurting when they dry out. It's starting to bleed quite a bit when i'm changing the dressing.

However, if you are anything like me, by the time you are getting close to healing you are going to be finding as many different ways to tape it as possible because your skin is going to get thin and irritated by all the taping and removing of tape.

it's already irritated and i still have about 6 weeks to go. I guess one good thing about nerve damage is that i can't feel one whole side that gets taped.
