Pickles are good...but some are better than others. (I don't care much for sweet pickles)

Pickles are good in the natural form before they become pickles, dipped in some ranch, very refreshing.
Don't think I've ever eaten a pickle. Maybe when I was young and wasn't as discerning with my hamburgers. I do know that when they are present and then removed, there still lingers a vague taste of yellow mustard, and yellow mustard is good, so pickles must not be that bad.
If it is made right, you need quite a bit of salt, though. Somewhere between 10 and 15% of the brine's mass needs to be salt (I can't recall the minimum), so as to prevent the bad bacteria from being able to proliferate. Even vinegar pickles need salt in the liquid.I like sour, half sour and dill, but all that sodium is bad.
Lol @ that thread. Yeah I have to admit I wasn't thinking about sweet pickles when I made this thread. Yuck sweet pickles don't count.![]()
