OK, this is pretty basic...trying to help a buddy out but not used to looking for systems, pre-built, in this price range...so I figured I'd ask you guys.
He is on a uber tight budget, yeah I'm sure you've heard that before, and wants to get a pre-built system. He's tight on money, doesn't need anything fancy...just something reliable for putting hobby pictures on, emailing, etc. I'd say he probably doesn't want to spend more than $500...yeah it's that tight.
His current system, older than George Washington himself, crashed recently (hardware failure after it's third ice age)...so I figure he's best off dealing with his crumby monitor and no speakers than trying to buy a "package" for that price. So let's focus on just a tower? Let me know what you think...I'm going to dig around but I haven't even looked at systems in a dog's age.
Any advice on a reasonable and reliable system in this price range?
Ultimately, reliability is key...compared to what he had, a mouse running in a cage to power the CPU would be an improvement. He isn't a computer techie guy, and lives a distance from me...so I don't want him to run into any issues that I'd have to ultimately solve
Lemme know boys and girls...thanks!
