DayZ intrigues me. :hmm:
dayz intrigued me as well, but the vibe i get from various posts and anderzel's videos is that it just isn't good enough and improvements have come to a stand-still.

Hmm, strange. Has the player base dwindled? I thought it was relatively new, so expected they would keep it up to date, at least in the short term.

The Saboteur, this game was honestly a hidden gem, overlooked by so many PC gamers and console gamers alike.

Sooo, what's the point of this stupid Stalker game. Walk a few yards, completely miss killing a dude even though you have walked up right behind him and shot him in the head, then have a swarm of Russian dudes kill you. Rinse, repeat?
Good. Freaking. Times.

Way back in the Mod DayZ, I played it constantly for 6 weeks and loved the atmosphere of it. However, it became apparent that the game was just a long path to being just a DM game. Once I realized that I lost interest. From all that I hear nothing has changed with the standalone.
The point is to follow the storyline that focuses on the entity named Strelok. There are a ton of side missions. There are factions; you can join any one of them or you can choose to stay a loner. The military doesn't generally like you and I don't think you can side with them.
In replaying this game because of this thread, I'm noticing a lot of shots that are not registering even though I can see the damn tracer go through the head.
The Stalker games aren't really twitch shooters. They're more methodical shooters, but I still find myself wasting a lot of ammo with repeated shots that should have been a kill the first time.
Oh, and guns aren't all that accurate, either. They're quite unrealistically inaccurate, even on the first shot. The first shot should be dead on, but the weapons end up sending slugs down trajectories that are physically impossible out the barrel.
I feel like I'm playing Stalker with an E-11. :awe:

I agree with you on Stalker, a lot of people seemed to like it but I never cared much for it. It seemed to have super-realistic damage and I'd always end up dead in minutes. Maybe I'll give it another try sometime.
Yeah that's exactly my boat right now. I now remember why I quit the game the first time around, but I am trying to just relax and take it in slowly. We'll see if I stick with it.

Welp. Best of luck!
/me goes back to Alien Isolation![]()
Heh, thanks. Played another 20 minutes; after a few more deaths I quit and went to play TF2.
I have a feeling Stalker is just not for me.
Download Path of Exile, you know you want to. It also has the coolest (and craziest) skill tree screen ever.![]()
I tried playing Stalker and was really turned off by the horrid UI/menu's and sound effects.
Oh, good to hear that you're starting to enjoy Stalker. __________________
