Took the pic two nights ago. Those are normal sized bricks. Damn it's big. What is it?

Just to give you an idea, the mortar joints (space between rows of brick) are typically about ~3/8 to 1/2-inches wide. Using those dimensions, I'd estimate that spider to be approaching 2-inches in length.

I was thinking of capturing it, but I didn't. I didn't kill it! It just ran away when I woke up the next morning. I took a few other pics, but this is the best one.

It's the smaller, more delicate spiders like red backs and black widows that kill.

We have similar spiders here, big black &amp; hairy. nothing beats the banana spiders that used to be on the farm when I was younger. They were about 3-4 inches with their legs spread out with a big fat belly the size of a large grape. Big enough to play target practice with a pellet gun from 30-40 feet. splat

I've gotten kinda used to black widows since i was young. Never seen a huge spider IRL though! Once I do, I"M OUTTA HERE!
