We have similar spiders here, big black & hairy. nothing beats the banana spiders that used to be on the farm when I was younger. They were about 3-4 inches with their legs spread out with a big fat belly the size of a large grape. Big enough to play target practice with a pellet gun from 30-40 feet.splat
