PhysX Cards

If the game does not take advantage of the hardware there are noimprovements. Very few games even take advantage of the PhysX Card.

But in the games that do, it seems like the newer cards are sporting much better physics (which means better visuals, because it looks better, because there's more stuff flying around more realistically). Also, IIRC, they fixed the graphics performance hit the first generation cards had.

Eh? There's no second generation of cards, it's still the same original design.

Great... when are they gonna come out with a AI processing Unit.

No killer app. When UT2007 comes out, we'll see if it's worth it.

I think Cell Factor Revolutions is a killer app, it looks superb 😛

Also the use of the API is free now, which is great for users.

CellFactor looks supurb, but I doubt it's going to be a killer app due to gameplay. In the demo I tried, it was more of a sandbox than any game with structure. If they want to go the sandbox route, they need to get Gary of GarysMod fame to work on something.

Given that, I think Vian is right that UT2007 will be the killer app that makes or breaks PhysX. But at this rate, quad-core may shake things up first.

I am considering getting one for my x-mas present. The API ain't bad and OGRE already has some 3rd party wrappers for it even.
