There are no reasonable needs for a lot of things in a modern society. Which thing do you particularly enjoy? I'd like to ban it.

All too often, the police are paid to clean up a mess rather than prevent crime.

I have personally fired off probably about 1000 rounds of ammunition, not including the thousands of BBs and pellets. I have yet to harm a single person.

Right, you have no concept of an armed society and it's affects on government. Please research the second admendment, it's not for hunting.

How is an oppressed society supposed to combat it's government w/o weapons? Government is inherently dangerous.

Without hunting the deer populations would explode. Then you'd have a bunch of cute little bambies starving, running across roads creating hazardous conditions for motorists, and otherwise dying slow painful deaths.

heh my family has owned guns for years. WE have never hurt or killed an innocent person. actually they have never hurt anyone.


You might want to some research on hunting. If you do not keep the herds down they tend to get sick and die out. Many starve to death because there is just not enough food for them all. Though i do think sport hunting needs to stop. IF you do not eat what you kill then there is no reason to hunt (hunter 10 years now).

collecting anything can be considered childish. Some poeple have classic cars that they do not drive. they have books they do not read, they have paintings they do not look at etc.

Wrong! Human beings are inherently dangerous. Put a gun on a shelf and you can watch it until the sun goes supernova and it won't do anything dangerous. Try that with a person and inevitably they will do something dangerous.

There was a state that banned deer hunting for a couple years. The first year the deer population went up massively, the second year, the deer population went down so much further than the hunting years that they had no choice but to reinstate hunting. Why the sudden drop? Because the deer were overpopulating thier environment and over stressing thier food supply. Controlled hunting keeps that from happening.

And I take it you are a vegetarian, because every deer any of my family members killed, we ate. Much like the game birds we raised (chickens).

What would you do with a vintage race car? What would you do with a medal from WW2? What would you do with a 100 year old piece of furniture?

I own a number of guns and not a single one is designed to kill people. In fact it would be verry difficult for me to kill a person with the majority of guns I own.
