It says that the cracked version disables the spyware. SO why not just buy the product, get the valid license, and then just install the cracked version. Technically you then won't be breaking the law... And you won't have to give up any personal information...

Absolutely no activation for OS X. I assume Adobe targeted Windows users for activation because warez is "more rampant" on windows, and because Windows XP itself already has activation, but if you know where to look, it is just as rampant on any operating system. I could tell you this right now, if any application came with activation for Mac OS X there would be a sh|t storm.

It is still technically illegal. You only own the right to use the program, you don't actually own the program. By using a cracked version, whether you payed for the right to use a legit one or not, still violated the license.

Yeah, I can't blame them for trying to stop it.

You'll still be breaking the law. Doesn't matter WHY you use it, the crack itself is illegal.

my vote for most pirated professional program probably goes to Windows XP right now, but yes adobe products aren't far behind

Nevermind the fact that my friend just grabs her Adobe Create Suite box from work, pops the CD in her iMac, drags and drops onto her hard drive and the application's installed...

Yes you will. Defeating copy protection (even if you own a licence) is a violation of the DMCA.

yes..

But obviously it seems to be legal if another company makes deep changes to your very own PC, installs various therads and processes, collects information and sends this information to some 3rd party over MY internet connection from MY PC.

I see the need for copy protection - but spyware and information collection, and especially deep *modifications* of my running system are something i do NOT consider funny. I didnt even bother to read the WHOLE reply from the answer guy....just from overflying it it was enough for me.

I just cleaned my system yesterday from some serious spyware infiltration...just as a sidenote.

Sidenote2: Of course (again) the honest buyer is the folled one who has to live with the problem - of course the crack will get rid of the problem, i KNEW that already before i even read here and without even owning CS. And sidenote 3, i think adobe software stinks anyway...overrated and bloated...
