There's some pretty heavy processing going on there, but they look GREAT. Colors are dazzling.

There's some pretty heavy processing going on there, but they look GREAT. Colors are dazzling.

Correct. These are not out-of-camera. But that's why I shot them in RAW.

Passing beneath the Verrazano Narrows Bridge

Everyone thinks we're going to hit it and it looks close but we've got over 70' of clearance compared to ~ 1/10th that (just over six feet!) of QM2. That's REAL close. :Q

I know it sucks, but I haven't had my camera long, and Cleveland landscapes/urban scenes are pretty bad. I also haven't had much time to go out this year either.

True to life images are good, but most often, a bit of processing can make it much truer to life.
Even the Canon 1ds MK2 can't reproduce all the colors and dynamic range of your eyes.
In fact, in high contrast scenes, it won't even come close.
Then you need to worry about loss of contrast due to flare, which is significantly worse on your 15element zooms.
You'll also have to factor in white balance. It's difficult for cameras to accurately match the white balance that your eyes preceive.
