the celtics because they are in the running for greg odin?

Greg Oden won't land in boston. boston already has there star in Paul Pierce, they can only do so much to make the team better.

Greg Oden will land in Philly. They lost their star, and once the ncaa tourney rolls around, watch the Greg Oden hype go into overdrive.

Other teams at the bottoms like the Sonics have Ray allen and Rashard Lewis. Memphis had it chances last season and it wasn't as if they were a bad team.

having stars has nothing to do with the draft. you pick when you pick. the sixers have one more win than the celts at this point and they would be #2 picking

It's a lottery system, having the worse record only means you have a better chance of getting Oden.

they were very good last year, with amare back i'm not sure who will stop them.

(despite their "lack of defense", they could have won the west last year)

If only they could play defense, they would have a chance at the NBA title this year.

Their defense is a lot better this year then it was in the past. If they can improve that some more and beat dallas next match I will feel good about their chances until then I shall be listening for tonights game

They are actually playing very, very good defense this year.

I don't see how you can say this. They are ranked 24th in the league in points allowed per game. They only win because they score even more than they allow. When it gets to the playoffs, and the other teams get tougher on defense, I don't think they will be as successful.

Point differential and opponent's fg percentage is a better judge than points allowed. They play the fastest pace of any team in the NBA. Because their opponents get so many more posessions they will get points.

Here's the list of the top 5 teams in point differential: Phoenix, San Antonio, Dallas, Chicago, Houston

I don't think anyone will argue that those aren't the 5 best defensive teams in the league.

They are only 11th in opponents field goal percentage, but that still puts them in about the top 1/3 of the league. Which isn't bad if your shooting percentage is by far number 1.

The thing is people see the high point totals they give up and assume it's from a lack of defense. What some don't realize though is that because of how fast they play on offense that gives the opponent more opportunities to score as well. If you're running up the floor trying to capitalize with fast-break points then you're giving the ball back to the other team a lot more then teams who don't prefer to run and gun do. In the NBA, more opportunities = more points, regardless of how good a teams defense is.

The Suns have always been "my team". Dan Majerle was my favorite player when I was younger, they had such a good team back in the early 90's.
I still like their new guys, too. I dont think they should have traded Joe Johnson though.

I think Joe johnson wanted to be traded. He wanted to be "the guy" on a team and he wouldn't be that on a team like phoenix where there is just too much talent. Plus they did get boris diaw and some first round picks so i think it still works out in phoenix's favour. But can you imagine if they had joe johnson w/ their current roster...

Whenever I see the Suns, it pisses me off because they remind me of the King 4-5 years ago when they were so fun to watch. Now the Kings suck 🙁

I definitely think he can. There are lots of glimmers of hope in toronto. Bosh is very fun to watch and so it bargnani

Fun to watch and a great regular season team..........note regular season. Come playoff time they will home as usual in short order.

Yup, the Suns are fun to watch. I watch them whenever they are on tv. I also have Shawn Marion on my fantasy team so I follow them. The worst team to watch for me is the Spurs...boring!

The Suns are a very good defensive team actually. It has already been mentioned that they give up a lot of points because of the pace of the game. Last I checked, the Suns were in like the top 5 in the league in terms of points given up per possession. This is a much better statistic because it takes into account other defensive stats that the Suns do well, like taking charges, and the fact that they don't foul very often. The Suns FG% against is also 10th in the league.

Their style has gotten them to the WCF the last two years, despite key injuries (Joe Johnson missed a few games 2 years ago, Amare and Kurt Thomas last year). They've also been able to score just as many points in the playoffs as the regular season, so their "style" isn't the reason they lost in the playoffs. They lost because of the absence of key players, and because the Spurs and the Mavs were better teams. This year, I think the Suns will be better.

But go ahead and spout out the same old crap about fast-paced teams not being able to win, and how the Suns don't play defense.
