over here, we don't really mess with phase so much. I think at Extreme systems they do, and the maxes are like 3.2 or something like that.

Leper's right. If you want to see some crazy clocks, head over to Xtremesystems.org. I believe I've seen dual core at ~3.4GHz but i can't remember if it was the new FX-60 or a regular A64/Opteron. Another place to check is the Futuremark ORB. Just look for the top scores with the high-end cards and you'll see some nicely oced dual cores.

Meh.. OCZ will bring us $200~300 phase power in a matter of weeks! (Or so they said at CES.)

I've been waiting for its release ever since it was showcased at CES. They claimed once production hit full swing and prices stabilized, it would go for about $200. When it does, I'm picking one up for sure.

Yeah, the OCZ unit is said to be designed by Chilly1 and will be competitive temp wize with the Vapo LS and MachII. I think I'll have to pick one up myself:)

The OCZ units do look nice, but from my experience with dual cores and phase change they really don't help the overclock that much. I run my 3800+ X2 at 2850 which is not that impressive. The limiting factor always seems to be one core just is not stable.

i highly doubt it.

I've seen some reviews and its nowhere near temps of the vapo LS or mach 2 GT's.

it's gonna need a gas mod to get anywhere close.

LS and GT both use r404 I believe or r507.

the ocz unit doesn't use that good of gas.

either way, the ocz unit CAN be regassed (can be done by chilly1 personally) and will run close to or better than LS and GT.

I heard the OCZ unit will have r404, but will only have a 1/6hp compressor where the others have 1/4hp. But everything is speculation at this point

i read about the 1/6 but read the gas is speculation but from the legitreviews review of the unit, it said r134.

i don't think ocz will ship with r404 or r507 IMHO.

From what chilly1 is saying over at Xtreme, it just might be r507. See post #54
