The pocket where I normally have my cell phone is empty and the cell phone is on my desk and each time my leg buzzes like when cell phone is on silent mode then moments later my cell phone rings.

Is there any more study on the phantom rings?

I know there is muscle memory but has there ever been any more indepth research on the causes of this?

This had nothing to do with muscle memory...

There is no such thing as what you are trying to claim.

There was just a report my case a few months ago on either theregister.com or news.com.

I am not the only one who has experience phantom cellphone vibrating in their pant leg pocket.

I think whatever you read becomes your next post here.

It's a sensory illusion/misperception, that's all. Very similar to when you think you see movement (e.g., a bug) out of the corner of your eye when nothing is there, or when you think you hear your name called when no one's around or no one is talking to you. Or even somewhat similar to how we can see faces in so many random non-human objects and patterns.

Our brains become conditioned/accustomed to recognizing and interpreting certain sensory inputs in certain ways. For whatever reason, phone vibrations are now one of those things.

I get this sometimes. It's not connected to your phone. You're making that connection in your head. Trying to find a pattern.

It happens to me as well. I believe it is tied to stress. The more stress you feel, the more likely it is to get phantom calls.

Well at least I'm not the only one. I occasionally feel the text message vibration when my phone is not in my pocket.
