Yeah, I doubt there are any veterinarians working for PETA.
 
the local vets, shelters and the like all dump the animals that are dead and unclaimed into a furnace across from where I used to work. damn that could stink really really bad

Sounds like they were dumping their dead animals so they wouldn't have to pay for disposal. Its not cruelty, its just cheap and mildly illegal.
