How about the people who think the floppy drive is the hard drive?
Or when you g/f installs the purple monkey software cause its was cute.
Finger prints on monitor bad.
When people have 20 icons in the system tray and want to know why the computer is running slow so you disable half of them and they get mad even though they couldn't tell you what more than 3 or 4 of them are.
Or when someone calls you to help because they are having problems with thier computer and you go over to help them and they stand behind you and do one of 2 things.
1. Every time you click on some thing or type they want to know what your doing and, you know they will never understand.
2.Every time you try to do some thing the tell you you can't do that or your no supposed to do that.

Sounds like various forms of bowel movement... 😛
Working on the hell desk:
People who reboot their machine, call you while it's rebooting, and wonder why you put them on hold while you go smoke a cigarette.
People who say "The internet is down" or "My internet doesn't work" or "The internet is down because <insert site here> says my password is incorrect"
People who have a fan setting on or next to the monitor, call to complain the screen wiggles, and plays dumb to the tech who comes to fix it.
People who move on to other things, getting rid of a unique but necessary error message, and demand you fix it.
People who eat over their keyboards and order replacements every week.
People who say "I don't know anything about this computer crap." Yeah, I like to hear that my career choice is crap.
People who want speakers/cdrw/lcd/etc because "John has one..."
People who use speakerphone cuz they're too f*%&#*(&$^ lazy to pick up the handset
People who use headsets, but have the mic a mile away from their mouths and refuse to adjust it when you tell them you can't hear them.
People who repeat, "NO" when you're trying to show them how to fix the problem. (This one makes me want to shove the phone up the user's a$$)
but the absolute worst:
PEOPLE WHO EAT WHILE ON THE PHONE WITH YOU!!!!!
people who say "marry up" when refering to technical processes
It's the term of the year here.

People who cut thier nails at thier cube
People who talk super loud on the phone
People who dress slopily at a business casual office. There is this contracter they hired recently who wears these dress shoes slipper type deals with white socks!?
People who cannot ever seem to work a full 40 hour week. "I have to leave 2 hrs early to take my lizard to the vet" "I have a runny nose i have to go to the doctors at 2 pm to see if its mono"
People who try to dump on call to you.
"can you take on call for me this saturday and sunday, we are going to niagra falls" WTF the oncall schedule has been out for 6months in advance why schedul trip for your oncall weekend? but they dont just want to switch whole weeks they just want you to take a couple days.:disgust:

I hate people who refuse to learn how to fix "problems" such as a mouse being dirty or the infamous "My keyboard isn't working because I pulled it across the room and I'm too dumb to figure out I caused it to come unplugged."
The worst thing EVER is when people install programs in random directories like My Documents... or install programs to the desktop... and all the files are F'ING everywhere.... uggghhh
Then you have the people who refuse to adjust to a new program that works better because they are dumb and it took them years to figure out the old one.
I hate it when people use my computer. Especially when they don't ask. Log you out of your email, leave theirs logged in... close all your apps... leave away messages up on THEIR AIM account... Come on. Seriously.
People who break something, then refuse to do anything about it until the problem become so unbearable...
But on the same token, people who do something stupid and ask you to fix it every 10 seconds.
People who have poor file management skills, then run up to you asking you where they put a file. There is a "My Documents" folder for just that... not so you can avoid putting things in one place you dumb$hits.
The phrase "I Own" is now for 8 year old AOLers, and them alone. (I 0WNZ3RS and any other variation included) Get over it.

i know, its totally ridiculous, isnt it? i've never said a word to her about it though, i just cringe and keep my mouth shut.
something kinda related to that is AGP. i ALWAYS hear "AGP port" or "AGP slot" which of course means "accelerated graphics port port" or "....port slot". it doesnt really bother me though, in fact i use it that way. saying "does it have an AGP" just doesnt sound right. kinda weird to think about...

I also always have the discussion with my mother about memory vs. harddrive space.
Mom: Do I have enough memory?
Me: For what?
Mom: To install this program. (or download pictures from a camera, etc.)
Me: Memory has nothing to do with those functions.
Mom: Well, they have to go into the computer somewhere.
Me: Yes, on the harddrive. You have plenty of space.

How about when you have to explain something slightly technical to upper management, and they are complete morons in general (which carries over into the computer field). I have to more or less lie/make up stuff so its just enough information to help them understand without totally confusing them. And I hate how irresponsible everyone in IT is (myself included at times)

Ugh... why can't these programs just dump their crap in the quick launch??? Has anyone ever actually used Realplayer jukebox? or how about the quicktime icon? God that's irritating.
And that's another thing... friggin Weatherbug. I hate that thing with a passion.
Oh, and before I forget, New.net. How is it that every friggin user in the world has this thing installed???
