Pet Peeves (Computer Related)

I for some reason can't stand the term "Lappy" for laptop...
also... memory when reffering to hard drive space.




What are some of yours?

People using cheap gas in 2-strokes (oxygenated or ethanol added) and then bitching when they have probs.

heat sink is two words. slapping a fan on said heat sink does not make it active.

When people go anywhere near my monitors with a finger! That SERIOUSLY piss's me off.

Do you mean the actual disk itself? Because CD-ROM stands for Compact Disk - Read Only Media. So, if someone says "Hey, hand me that CD-ROM over there," they're correct.

My pet peeve is people who sit at a stop sign until I come to a complete stop just to 'make sure' that I'm not going to run the sign. God, soooooooo annoying. Just GO!

I agree on the finger prints on the monitor. I hate that.

I disagree w/El Fenix Q) a first...I think. Putting a fan on a HS DOES make it active. Hence the fan. Passive heat sink is a fanless one. Active heat sink is a HS w/a fan. *awaits torrent of rebuttal*
