dude, please stop with these threads. fine. we know that the us dollar is getting weaker. members in any country could make a thread comparing the value of their currency to the us dollar. yet we don't. only you do. why? it's annoying.
Oh give him a break! How long has the US called Canada's money monopoly money and not worth much? It must be fun for Canucks to throw it back, because the US really has asked for it.
For my part, I live next to Canada and have been avoiding a trip I had planned there, which isn't likely to be encouraged by my money being worse than crap. Canadian products were already costing too much just based on retail prices before but now with the US dollar in the pisser, even a quick weekend there would sour my experience.
The well known Canadian inferiority complex in regards to anything American.
Again, nothing like turning one's hubris back on them!
BTW, something needs to be done about the price of books, which has not yet been updated in Canada...
I have some Canadian relatives who whine about how much stuff still costs there. They seem oblivious to the fact that they brought it upon themselves. To demonize the high retail prices they pay while on the other hand doggedly defend the heavy government and taxation, all of which negatively impacts the economy, is comical to me.
Payback (in Canadian dollars) is a bitch, eh?
It sure isn't as much fun when you're on the receiving end of the constant money jokes, isn't it? OK. Maybe I'll just post every five cents increase.
Maybe.
Don't worry about it. As much as I abhor the exchange right now because it's costing me real money every month (CAN student loans and tuition still going to Canada in CAD), the pain and resentment you're bringing forth out of people is a growing pain. It's good for them to have rubbed in their face what they rubbed before and the humility it teaches will be a good lesson that they can take forward in their lives.
