Brain surgery on people usually involves consent and knowledge.

Even though it is needed for science I still find it sad on animals because they are not aware of what is happening to them, they cannot distinguish medical science from a viscous attack.

So one is sad (even if needed) and the other is not.

Nik, sometimes you are such a jerk. 😛

even if they told the rat, he still wouldn't know!

I've never done a brain cannula (only a few aortic cannulas) but have done lots of wireless eeg telemetry implantations. I hated trying to screw in the electrodes. Are the rats only under opiates there? I always put them under iso for the procedure and then an opiate post surgery.

not to mention posting his lab partner. A lot of people don't like black people to begin with nor science study on animals...probably not too hard to figure out where this is.

Personally I don't think these kinds of things are suitable for ATOT...to encouraging to our members with no-lives to duplicate.

Do you know any of these worthless fucking turds personally?

Why was I not prepared to see pics of brain surgery in this thread, lol.

😀 I know right?
Thread title totally said brain surgery. But this is ATOT. I didn't expect it to actually be brain surgery on well, actual brain tissue of an animal! 🙂

edit:
oh yeah, and awesome! this is FOR SCIENCE!

I don't dig brain surgery. I can watch a lot of different kinds of cutting, but brain surgery always weirds me out.

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: [to Igor] Now that brain that you gave me. Was it Hans Delbruck's?
Igor: [pause, then] No.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Ah! Very good. Would you mind telling me whose brain I DID put in?
Igor: Then you won't be angry?
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: I will NOT be angry.
Igor: Abby Someone.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: [pause, then] Abby Someone. Abby who?
Igor: Abby Normal.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: [pause, then] Abby Normal?
Igor: I'm almost sure that was the name.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: [chuckles, then] Are you saying that I put an abnormal brain into a seven and a half foot long, fifty-four inch wide GORILLA?
[grabs Igor and starts throttling him]
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Is that what you're telling me?

That's where... they control themselves! You cut them there! GASP!

It is the weirdest surgery to watch, especially for humans whether it's experimental research work, pictures of the aftermath (slicing that one doods brain up like it was frozen cheese! 😱), or routine surgery... it's odd watching people poke around with sharp things inside the brain, knowing the brain is basically where everything that is us is located.

...

Put any chips in? 😀 Antenna?

:awe:

Did you get your PIs permission for posting those? You should take them down if you didnt, could get into huge trouble with IRB

I doubt it. All IRBs really ever care about is record keeping, patient privacy (not so much a problem here) and proprietary info (also not happening here).

NO, a lot of people don't like ghetto people. I'm sure they're fine with black people.

A lot of people don't like white people too.

I think people are assuming I meant *most* above.

Anyway there are tons of reasons why posting another's picture to a public forum is not cool.
