Fuck the teacher, go to the principle about it. You'll probably get the same direct result (an apology), but the principle needs to know when his teachers make mistakes that large. It could be part or the start of a pattern of negligence.

agree. it would be retarded to go to the principle over something so retarded.
everybody in all lines of work makes mistakes. it's how those mistakes are handled that determines whether you have just cause to be angry or not.
if the teacher was rude or refused to correct the grade, then i can see becoming irate with them. if they handle it acceptably, then there's no reason why you should be an ass.

You grounded him for TWO weeks for failing Health? And that's some epic strict grounding man.
- Your son should have gone to see his teacher right after getting the report. I'd definitely inquire about randomly failing a class.
- You should ease up a bit dawg. Doesn't seem like your kid is a bad kid at all, you should be a little more forgiving.
- Teacher should be more careful, but shit happens. A few of my teachers in HS would enter incorrect grades.
Edit: I voted yes before fully reading the post. But that's because I thought that he was suspended or something by the school. I think I'd vote no now.
My son is the best just yesterday I was raking the yard and HE came outside and asked me if I wanted help. I have never missed a soccer game, band concert or swim lesson. A day never goes by that I do not hug him and tell him I love him at least twice a day. Even though he is in 7th grade I still wait with him for the bus. I asked him once if he wanted me stop because I thought it would be "uncool" in front of his friends. He was reply was no why I like you waiting me.
Now while he was grounded my wife and were there all time. Each night we would play cards or a board game just to reinforce the idea that even he was grounded it does not mean we do not love him or he dissappointed us

well i would like to point out that i'm glad the OP actually apologized to his kid.
if my father were in the same situation, he would have continued yelling at me about not checking my grades, teachers always fuck you over, and it's my fault i'm in this situation to begin with.
(i hate people who feel the need to blame everything on someone.)
Yeah, reminds me of the time when my 7th grade math teacher sent home a progress report stating that I had an F, when I really had a B.
My dad (spitting image of the OP) jumped to conclusions and "hit the roof" over it. The big difference between me and the OP's son is that I actually went to the teacher and demanded that she resolve the issue by calling my father. I don't know why the OP's son just took the punishment without bothering to even defend himself...

Why you waited 2 weeks to check is beyond me... As soon as I saw that "E" I would have gone online to figure out what the problem was.
"E" was an option for me since elementary school. I think in elementary school an "E" was 0-49%. In high school an "E" was 40-49, with an "F" below that. "E" kind of meant that you were failing but if you did some extra work you could get a 50 to pass.

You only needed a 50 to pass in your highschool?![]()
