People who torture animals make me so angry!

Disturbing, those articles.... the gasoline one made me cringe as an owner of 2 furry ones.

I saw a video years ago of some Gothic chick stepping on a puppy with her high heels while he squirmed... and then putting that heel into his eye and twisting it.

I will never watch a video of animal cruelty again as it disturbed me for life.

Some people are just truly sick.

So would you rather see an animal tortured and killed or a human? Say you had to hypothetically choose between the two.

Are you hypothetically talking about a flesh eating skunk vs. Osama Bin Laden? Tough choice.

I still remember the day I took my students to do a sedimentology/stratigraphy lab by the Ottawa river and we found the charred remains of a cat in a cage near the outcrop.

I think people who are that cruel to any living animal should be killed. They aren't right mentally.

Yep. It's just a gateway to a life as a sociopath, possibly even a serial killer. It's only a matter of time before people like that start experimenting on people instead.

The legal system needs to realize that cruelty to animals, while a nasty crime, is much more important as a warning sign. It's sad when animals are tortured, but the really important thing is that it lets us know who needs to be committed before they do something even worse.

it would depend on the person

I really wish I didn't read that first article ... 🙁

I didn't read the second though, and won't.

Anybody who can torture a helpless animal has serious issues.

The part about the screaming baby really hit home for me.

Years back when I was a kid I came home from w/my mom and when we got into our house we heard what sounded like a child screaming "help help" and were like what the hell is this? I walked into the kitchen and our cat was hanging by his collar choking on a kitchen cabinet knob. I immediately got her off of there and held her in my arms as she gasped for air. After like 10 minutes or so she seemed to be fine but she was very tired and lethargic.

We have no clue how long she was hanging on the knob. But it seems like she was just walking on the counter and jumped off and got caught on this knob. But the sounds she made when we walked in was a sound I never even thought a cat could even make and it literally sounded like a child screaming help.

edit:

and for all the idiots who bring up the human/animal comparison, you are an idiot. just because one doesn't enjoy seeing animals tortured doesn't mean they enjoy seeing humans tortured. the comparison between the 2 is so unnecessary.

How about the guy that kills the cow that results in my Filet Mignon?

Bruised animals don't taste as good as baby farm animals killed by expert butchers. Mmmm I can eat a baby roasted pig right about now. So tender and juicy.

I'm as liberal as they come but I feel like having an hour or so to acquaint them with my Louiville slugger! That plus most eventually move up to torturing and killing humans.

People who advocate using violence on people who torture animals are no better.

Why? This comment makes no sense to me. Why wouldn't we want to purge the world of people who initiate animal torture?

Treating violence with violence is kind of 😕

I'm sick to death of this fallacy. It supposes all violence is equal, and that violence can beget nothing but more violence. Retarded!

Some violence is required in life, and some of it is for the good. Should the Allies have done nothing during WWII? Should violent revolutions which free people from oppression be looked down upon because some people die. Should I let someone beat the shit out of a girl or or old person because my intervention would require me to be violent? Sometimes, violence is the ONLY solution to violence.

The facts of life are this: you must kill to survive, period. Obviously, violence has it's place. If I caught someone torturing an animal, I would do my very best to HURT that person BADLY.

Neither should happen.
