I subbed to NFL Game Rewind, set up a Plex channel, and now I don't really care about cable. OTA worked well for football, except NBC's signal is always crappy during SNF. Comcast probably does it on purpose. Anyways, now I can watch all the games, even condensed down to 30 min in HD.

man, my parents are really being taken to the cleaners with their cable bill. they just signed up for comcast triple play. I tried to buy them a modem from amazon so they could save $8 month for modem rental, but nope. you need to rent the modem because its the only one that can do voice. they are also paying $15 for this BS vietnamese channel that sucks imo. but w/e.

I'm trying to set them up with HD Homerun prime and repurpose a PC as an HTPC for them so they can save $20 a month from the DVR. its an unwinnable battle!

You can buy your own Arriss modem, however; Comcast refuses to support it. To me it's not worth the hassle.

My Triple Play runs about $280 for 50Mbps service.

Under contract with DirecTV until February, but debating on cancelling it right now and just eating the ETF. Monthly bill is $70/mo, ETF would be $20/mo.

Got an Antennas Direct C2-V that I was intending on putting on the roof, but I don't have a ladder that would reach. I set it up in the lower level of a 3 level split, get about 20 channels crystal clear. Significantly better than the Mohu leaf I tried down there before. Probably going to wait for some snow or other obstruction before I for sure cancel, just to make sure it doesn't cut out with them.

Not sure if Canadian or communist European...

American. Football, especially the NFL just doesn't do it for me anymore. Hockey is a sport of true finesse skill and toughness. But anyway, this isn't a discussion on sports or which one is best.
