Guys, I know I started this thread a while ago, I still haven't cut the cord yet. Not because I don't want to, just have been so busy, and Commiecast has been hassling me big time.
A) They are going to charge me $200 to "cancel my contract" with them. Is there ANY way out of this?? I pleaded with the rep to waive the fee. Citing I'm still going to use their service, but just for internet. Also, I've been a good customer for over 4 years, and pay my bills on time. Nothing.
B) They said I have a cable box under my name, that I know I don't have. Essentially, if I cancel my service and don't return it, it's going to be $200-400 fee for the "lost" box. I know for a fact I don't have it, because when they updated their software to the X1 stuff back earlier this year, I handed all my old boxes to the Tech, and he handed me three new ones. I can account for all three of the new boxes, but the 4th I can't, which they say is misses. I asked what it's status was, and they said "inactive". To me that says the tech lost it, or it is in a warehouse some where and wasn't accounted for by Commiecast. Either way, it's BS that I'm liable for their mistakes.
What can I do? I don't want to pay up to $600 to cancel, I can't afford that. Granted, I will be saving probably around $80 a month... But the pay off period is kind of long if I need to really spend that much money.
